The president is reportedly launching yet another illegal war:

President Trump has secretly signed a directive to the Pentagon to begin using military force against certain Latin American drug cartels that his administration has deemed terrorist organizations, according to people familiar with the matter.
A cartel war would be insane, and the president has no authority to start one on his own. Using the military against drug cartels will cause more instability and bloodshed in the affected countries and possibly here in the U.S., but it isn’t going to solve anything else. The U.S. has no right to operate in other countries’ territory without the consent of their governments. Even if Congress authorized a war against cartels with some flimsy, open-ended resolution, sending U.S. forces into other countries to wage this war would be a flagrant violation of international law and a violation of the sovereignty of neighboring states.
