Go Spurs Go!
Spurs looking to improve on their franchise best undefeated start.
Fragile Four still out for San Antonio.
- Suns' SF Brooks (19ppg) and SG Green (DNP all season) are out.
- Phoenix last two games have been competetive with a sqeaked out win vs Mem and blowout vs Utah.
- Booker (33.2 ppg in last 4 gms) and Allen (16.3 ppg) are their go-to scorers with Brooks out, and provide three other double figure scorers to contend with.
- 7'1 Mark Williams is the only rotational player above 6'9 but the 7'1 Duke rookie Maluach could see spot mins against Wembanyama, but he's 19 and barely plays.
Just need Biyombo to be close to serviceable to allieviate the pounding on #1.
STATS update of current 7-man rotation (24.5 avg age):
C Wembanyama (age 21.8) : 30 ppg, 14.6 RPG, ~5 Blocks per game (24 total is more than 9 NBA teams), ~34 mpg, has shot 5-16 3PT (31%) and ranks 4th on team with attempts
PG Castle (age 21): ~19 ppg, 6 boards, 5 asst (team high), 31 mpg (over 5 turnovers per game and only shooting 60% from Free-Throws: 25 out of 42 attempts)
SG Vassell (age 25.2): ~17 ppg, 4.6 boards, highest team minutes at 34.6 per game, highest volume 3PT shooter at 40%
6th Man Harper (age 19.6): 14.4 ppg in ~26 mpg & matching 4.6 boards and dimes
7th Man Johnson (age 26): ~12 ppg in only 24 minutes, highest assist-TO ratio; highest FG % at nearly 63% and 3PT % at 54.5
PF Barnes (age 33.4): 30.4 minutes (4th highest),
SF Champagnie (age 24.3): over 29 mpg
Above 7 have played all five games and about 85% of total minutes on the floor, with the same starting five in every game.
Any links to stream the game for free?
Vic with a good rejection but looking like he’s lost some of his hops
Didn’t really think the suns knew how to play defense
Let’s get back to everybody staying with their man on the perimeter and letting Vic take care of the lane.
Well, that half sucked. My stream has Suns announcers, anyone with a Spurs stream hear anything about Harper's health?
Seems the NBA refs have forgotten about illegal defenses.
I agree. No idea why they all are sucking in on the drive and leaving the three open. That’s how they played the past few years. They did not do that the first few games. I wonder if coach Mitch is going to do something about it or let em play coach Pop style to teach a lesson.
They didn't mention anything that I heard.
I was gonna say Johnson needs to start Harper if this is a loss because his limited touches and shots was unacceptable early in that half. It's like the others had main character syndrome.
Doesn't help Phoenix is shooting way way above the mean from beyond.
Harper won't return per the telecast scroller. Just as well as far as this game is going.
Thanks bro!
Sucks that he got hurt. He was our best player this game.
Rather see Garcia than McLaughlin at this point
Vic and Vassell non factors on O tonight
They're 18-29 from 3pt. +30 difference on 3pt alone. What can you do
Come on Spurs, keep chugging
Harper is in a boot with that strain. If they're letting the other four 'injured' guys coast for weeks, expect Harper to be sat for a while.
You'd expect someone actually playing Wednesday since they now only have six high minute players.
Otherwise if we have to see one more game of Fox and Sochan in street clothes by the coaches when they're supposedly practicing...
This is a whatever loss... you're probably not beating a team hitting 12 3pters in the first half.
Btw tonight is Wembanyama's 5th career game in single digits - 3 as a rookie, 1 last year.
Wemby looked off. Stumbling and dribbling like a toddler
I doubt Harper tore his achilles. Probably calf pull. Out min 3 weeks
Yall r so cute...the 4 of u with 22 posts like the little train that could
9 pts against the lowly suns, Wembolbol exposed as a size bully feasting on a league of midgets
Put a guy like Mark Williams on him, who has the size and weight to keep up and watch Wembolbol fold.
I guess the mythical undefeated season is still safe.
If the Spurs go 5-1 at any point during this season again, I will consider that a huge win.
