Ok, so I went to get Pizza just now and had an interesting expeirience. While I was waiting there was a little girl playing around. She was very cute laughing and having fun. Prolly playing dress up or something cuz she was in a dress and way too much makeup.Anyways, as I was waiting for my food she started a conversation with me. I found out that she was 8 years old and that her mom worked at the pizza place. I found out that she had been there since school ended. School gets done at around 3 or so I would guess. It was 7:30!
Am I wrong in thinking that its not okay for a parent to bring their kid to work after school for over 4 hours?? I have never seen this child there before (I get food there often) so I doubt its a common thing, but still.
I am no parent, so I wouldnt know what its like to rais a child. So I ask you, does that seem okay to any of you? Just wondering.

Sometimes cir stance dictate things like this. It's better that she was at her mom's place of work than home alone.
It's probably not good if it's an every day occurence, but sometimes stuff happens.

I think it's better for her to be with her mom at the job rather than home alone...
Ironically enough, a week or two ago, a little two year old went to work with her mother.. and as she got out of the car, she got crushed by the vehicle...she was at the wrong place at the wrong time...

You better have left a big tip so the mom could afford a sitter.

Nothing wrong with taking your kids to work, as long as they (in descending order of importance) A) don't piss off the customers B) don't even talk to the customers C) do something valuable and, peferably, out of the way in their spare time D) don't get hurt or killed.
If the child was doing at least 2 of the 4 above, I think it's fine.
Hmmm....I don't think is was right for the little girl to be playing out where the customers are. It takes a second for some sicko to snatch her up and take off if the mother or other customers aren't paying attention.
Wow, I never even thought of that. But, you are right. I was sitting in the chairs by the door when she came and sat next to me and started chatting. Had I been someone else, it would have been easy to grab her.
Yea...it is pretty sad to have to think that way but you hear so much like that happening on the news you really can't help but be very careful.
It was probably just a one-time deal in an emergency situation.
I doubt it was a regular occurance....I say this because most of us go to work to get away from our kids for a few precious hours a day.

As long as the mother was at work and not makin another kids for us the taxpayers to pay for, I'm cool with it!
One of my associates brought her daughter to work (this was when I was working at OfficeMax) and her daughter was getting into everything, so I just sent the associate and her daughter home, luckily we wernt very busy that day.

GiG, not being sure if you're a daddy or not is the first step to becoming a terrible father.
I let my guys bring their kids to work occasionally when they get in a bind for a sitter...My insurance carrier would probably keel over with a stroke if they found out...My shop/office is 1 1/2 acres of "big boy toys"...I looked out the window one time and this 10 year old boy had the back end of one of the welding trucks lifted off the ground about 3 feet with one of the electric chain hoists...
