Can't be absolutely certain about that, though. In the 2003 playoffs, there were two back-to-backs in the 2nd round: Mavs @ Kings (Sat/Sun) and Pistons @ Sixers (Sat/Sun).
It's rare these days, but it does happen.
Makes you think back to 99 in the lock out season, they played back to back to back games. I dont know if this Spurs team could score 50 pts in the 3rd game in 3 nights.
The Spurs' performance in back-to-backs is partly by design. Look at the minutes. If Pop really wanted to go all out to win a game, somebody else besides Michael Finley would have gotten more than 35 minutes of playing time.
There is a conscious decision to rest the key players in the second half of back-to-backs.
