I need a new TV. I haven't researched the market and the new technology out, but I don't want to spend alot of cash, I want to spend enough to get by with a good picture, sound, etc.....
So is this a good TV?

As of right now, depending on what cable company you use, is what you will get.
I have Comcast HD, and I get WB20(WDWB or something), NBC, ABC, FOX, TNT, ESPN, and a few others. It is fun to just sit there and watch the horsies eat grass or go swimming in the worlds oceans, all sitting on the couch, marveling at how pretty and clear the picture is into these untamed worlds. ESPN doesn't do HD basketball, ABC has ty HD quality, FOX looks fantastic, NBC is not that bad, WB not that bad, TNT is also pretty good,
It's a good deal, but projection TVs suck.
Oh, man, projection TV? Didn't catch that. Yeah, I hate those. Take up a lot of space, too.
I have an HD projection I think...it isn't all that bad. Roughly 12 inches from front to back, plus it is on a stand that is two feet front to back.
I have a TV exactly like that and I've had a lot of problems with the convergence board. It has been replaced 3 different times within a year. Luckily I got the Circuit City warrenty so they've replaced it for free.
Yeah but when you look at the tv from either side doesn't the picture turn gray? You don't have that problem with plasma or LCD. Unless you sit dead center in front of a project TV the picture suffers.
Oh and don't buy from Con's.
Actually, I don't know if it is rear projection...LOL. BUt I think it is DLP projection.

roughly what it looks like.
Oh and RCA sucks too.
You didn't keep the bait & switched one?
I think LCD technology is the way to go with High Def TV's. Pretty expensive though.
i want to get a plasma sometime next year.
Hey SequSpur
Anytime you start a thread like this you just get pissed off when people try to help you...Face it... you are too big of a freaking hot head to grasp the concept of HD TV's & DVD’s...Stick with your 19” Samsung & ponder the mystery of watching channel 7 while recording the broadcast on channel 9 on your 1982 VCR...![]()
That being said......Texas instruments D.L.P. invention is very impressive...Normally I would prefer Mitsubishi but for some reason the Toshiba DLP series looks brighter....
Best Buy... (Employees get a nice discount) & Costco carries them as well...
So for those of us who aren't cutting edge and couldn't find an easy explanation on google . . . what is DLP?
Blow me.
WTF? Can't you all read? I want HD for the lowest price.
2 years ago, Projection was the . Now its ghetto?
I want 50 inches +.....
LCD, Plasma??????????
I need to eat you know.
Digital Light Processing

It uses a bajillion little mirrors. The only problem is that if you hit the tv hard enough, the mirrors can fall out of position or break, etc., and you will end up with a black spot.
Why do you want 50 inches? So you can hide behind your television while standing up?
Chupa.
