Duh
Is that Ian sitting next to Manu (on Manu's right) behnd the Spurs bench at tonights game?
he was at practice also.
His season is over so i think he is over here to learn.
he has to learn how to get dounuts
oberta is showing him how
He was also in NY to see his first game with the team.
Sanikidze also there tonight, doing his best impression of Kevin Federline.
I saw that! Right down to the facial hair and hat.
should put these 2 on the roster, so knuckleheads rasho+nazr feel threatened about their jobs!
Dude, anyone who calls out Rasho after his play tonight IS a knucklehead.knuckleheads rasho+nazr feel threatened about their jobs!
Sanikidze has been here over a month now. Supposedly he has a girlfriend who works at Hooters on Wurzbach.
It's interesting that they are both here now.
are they allowed to train with the team??
drob should be gettin this kid to the gym
I do not think they can officially train with the team. Sanikidze is getting rehab here. I'm not sure about Mahinmi - tonight was the first time I've seen him.
Didn't they draft Ian? Why can't he train with them?
I don't know the official rules. But since he isn't signed with them, I'm guessing he can't officially train with the team.
ah... Was he a first rounder? I can't remember.
Yes. 28th pick.
So if they play him, he gets a 3 year deal or something, right?
It's only 2 years guaranteed now (they changed the rule from 3) but he's no where close to being ready for the NBA yet - he's 19.
I've been hearing all kinds of stuff from scouts/GMs of other teams lately about him. Everyone says he's about 2 season away from being in the NBA, but people are saying he's going to be really good. They think the Spurs got a steal.
Remember alamo50 did this:![]()
It's not the end of the season, We don't play during the hollidays in France.
He has a game the 7st January. I think he will stay with Spurs until the new year.
He can't practice with Spurs without a contract. He must workout with assistants coach to learn some moves. Chip Engelland must work with him on his shoot too. Maybe they learned him the muscul-development exercises he should do in France to bulk up for the nba.
Can Ian learn the theory with us and go to his own gym for practical work?? does that effect any of the rules??
The play schemes ?
He can lear the theory with the staff but I'm not sure his teammates in Le Havre will be happy to practice Spurs nba schemes instead of their own.
The main reason why he can't practice with Spurs is that he isn't cover by the nba insurance. If something happen with a Spurs, the nba insurance won't work.
Ian has still practice this summer (not during the nba season) with Duncan, Horry and Jeff Foster.
if the nba doesnt wanna cover him cose his not on spurs payroll yet, then why cant he just go out get private insurance then, n then train with the team?
It's not for him but for the Spurs player he can injured. nba players aren't likely cover to practice with no-nba players during the season like they likely aren't cover if they go skiing during the season.
The cba forbid players without contracts to practice with nba teams because of that. Maybe there are other reasons too.
