'Twas the night before the Game, when all through the Palace
The Spurs huddled in fear, as they realized Detroit is not Dallas.
The nets were hung on the rims with care,
With hopes that Tim Duncan would soon cut his hair.
Eva was nestled all snug in her seat.
wishing it was true, about "The size of their feet".
Manu is injured, not walking but hopping,
Wanting to play, and dreams of flopping.
When out on the court, Mason stared with his flow,
Fans jumped to their feet, shouting "Fear The Fro".
Three's and steals, and defensive blocks.
The two best teams, No one else can hold our jocks.
Back and forth, both teams fought,
But the lead the Pistons built, could not be caught.
Rip undoes his mask, as he appears to have an itch.
Chauncey whispers into Bowens ear "Ain't paybacks a ?"
We'll take the win, As victory is sweet.
Yet we still have the taste of last Junes defeat.
The rematch is coming, and man I can't wait.
But this year the Finals, will be in our state.
"Now Chauncey! Now Manu!
Now, Rasho and Ben!
On, Rip! On, Tay!
On, Bowen and Tim!
From the top of my lungs
I say it loud.

It was good, but I recommend you balance out the pros/cons. It is too pro-Piston.

I agree not a bad poem, this is coming from a guy whose mother was a professional poet who would embarrass me by getting publicity for writing poems in Christmas cards in a mall every year. Now I miss her!

9 hours or so til the game begins.
Here's one I whipped up, with a more Spurs-biased flavor since this is a Spurs board.
Twas the night before tipoff, and all through the house
Not a Piston was pumping, not even Sheed's mouth
The Spurs banner hoisted just one month before
Detroit was defeated, but now back for more
The Spurs were all nestled in crap hotel beds
While visions of Father's Day danced in their heads
When Tim missed the putback and Rob nailed the trey
Here they were again, at the Palace to play
And how many people tuned into the game?
Almost none since they thought the teams boring and lame
But for true fans who did, the game was a treat
We don't give a about the Lakers and Heat
The defense intense, the passing was crisp
And other than Nazr, the Spurs held their grip
Minute by minute, the teams battled on
The lead bounced around like a game of ping pong
Big Ben grabbed boards, Tim Duncan went glass
Parker made layups and was knocked on his ass
But how does it end? We all want to see
I hope the Spurs win with a Big Shot Rob Three
Go Timmy, go Tony, go Rasho and Fin
If Manu was playing, we'd certainly win
Go Van X, go Brent, play hard and don't quit
But even if we lose, it doesn't mean
So tune in and watch the two best teams fight
Merry Christmas to Pistons and Spurs fans alike
