... of the chance of spending his first ever Christmas with his daughter..? Well.. when i thought about this, i became sad.. not only for him but also for our other players because they did not get the chance to spend their entire Christmas with their families.. well, i thought, aside from the many injuries in our team and the absence of Manu in the game, maybe that's the reason of our team's loss.. maybe, just maybe.. don't you think so..?

I disagree - as a professional athlete you show up!

As a doctor and public health official I have missed many holidays and make a heck of a lot less and have had to miss my family a lot more than Tim does. I recall staying in a neonatal intensive care unit through an entire Christmas Eve night and morning to help save a life and did not complain one bit - it is part of the profession just like it is for a professional athlete to travel!

Plus he got back the same day on a luxury jet. It was not a friggin deployment to the Gulf or even to Bosnia (where I spent a Christmas away from the family).

Heck the class thing would have been to say he was going to go play hard for the troops oversees - would have loved to have heard that from one of the Spurs and then see them do it.

Absolutely no sympathy here and no excuses for coming out totally flat as a team other than Parker - it is an honor to play in this type of game period.

Bruce Bowen wasn't with his first baby on his first Christmas yesterday either.

I feel sad for them, but they know it's part of the job.

Eight Spurs players (or staff) had babies this summer.

I give credit by the way to Bowen for being one of a select few who seemingly cared yesterday.

I remember Robinson openly saying he didn't like playing on Christmas 10+ years ago.

They weren't completely deprived. They came home as soon as the game was over, so they got in around 5:30 or so. It truly depends on your point of view of the holiday. Just because they weren't with their new babies at the stroke of midnight doesn't mean that they completely missed the day or the true meaning of the day. I think that coming home to what is most important to you is a gift in and of itself.

as much as Rummpd wants people to be equally as miserable as he was.

It still blows, that you have to be in Detroit for christmas.

I did feel bad for Bruce, Timmy, Marks and others.

I feel bad for everyone who had to work on Christmas and had to miss time with their families.

I'm just glad the game was over early and the boys were able to come back home.

Christmas day because its Christmas day

Boxing day to spend time with there kids and help them assemble and play with there new presents
