Everytime I feel my gas tank, the pumps always clicks off several times right after I begin filling my tank. Why is that?

afgter i got my 350z that happened to me the first 10 times or so i filled up, the gas pump would only let me put in like a half a tank and no more. then all of a sudden, and this is all at the same gas station, the problem went away.
when i had my sierra, there was some stations that were harder than others also to fill up at. try holding the handle at different angles, i had to do that wiht my sierra at sevearl gas stations.

    no i have no idea.
there was a service bulletin out for certain z's with a fueling problem but i dont remember what it was. i tried all different angles and none worked. i was getting pretty frustarted. then one day it just stopped having issues at all. and this was primarliy at the same gas station. i was getting really frustrated bc that gas staion was by far the cheapest in town. the sierra only had it at a few stations.
to the op, try lookin up to see of there are any service bulletins. other than that just try holding the nozzle at diff angles.

I've been told by a mechanic, when I had the same problem, that the gas tank can create a vacuum so pull the nozzle out about halfway to allow air in!!

Don't let the pump touch the tube housing. That's what that little coil thing is for. I was not kidding when I said put it in gently. Make sure it's seated at the proper angle.

Yeah, don't always go for the deep push. Tease the tank by putting in about three quarters of the way in and adjust the angle of entry. Good advice on the women as well.

Actually depending on the angle of the tubing leading down into the gas tank, giving it the full deep shot will cause gas to splash back onto the nozzle. The nozzle will click off because it thinks the tank is full. That's why pulling the nozzle back, adjusting the angle of the nozzle, or easing up on the flow works because the splashback is minimized and airflow is increased.

you must drive a small vehicle OR an SUV where the gas pipe to you car/SUV is too
close to the wall and narrow. This spits the gas back to the pump. You have to pull the gun a bit out to prevent the pump from stopping.

You wouldn't have that problem if your car was powered by Propane
