Will they play the same music?
No More KRock.
It's now JACK-FM
Just an friendly announcement.
Will they play the same music?
I quit listening when Kid Chris left...the guys that replaced him sucked...
Please edit your post so that it reads Just a friendly announcement.
Thank you.
I'm just glad the original KTFM was gotten rid of.
102.7 changes formats like I change my socks.
what kind of format is it now?
you change your socks every 4 years?
it's called jack fm.. it's a pretty good station they had it in Dallas, and it's sorta like bob fm out of Austin
Jack FM (Bob FM is the same thing) is something CBS coined but its pretty much the same format Magic 105.3 uses (70's, 80's, 90's, and todays hits) except Jack FM is ALL automated.
I was shocked when I tuned in this afternoon. I thought it was a bad joke but they are done. Nothing was wrong with the format but the fact that they powers that be never put any money in the damn thing. Shame....I think it's time to invest in satellite radio.
I'm stickin' to free radio.
KZEP for my classic rock and KONO for the oldies.
oh my god...... ing tlong has an awesome sig...i love big boobies
Why be such a grumpy stick in the mudd.I'm stickin' to free radio.
Make the switch.
Youlll be happy you did!!
Damn, I liked KROCK.
So, what happens to all the djs who left KISS and made those spots about "making the switch"?![]()
My guess is that they are unemployed. Occupational hazard. Radio is a dicey business from a job standpoint.
Man, a lot of those people who made the switch were OLD Kiss DJs too. Sucks for them. Suckas!
They are all fired, according to FMQB:
KSRX Goes Jack FM
Janaury 3, 2006
Taunting the market since Saturday (12/31) afternoon by first going jockless and airing slogans like "102.7 K-Rock will become free in 2006," CBS Radio's San Antonio Rock station, KSRX, did not go Free FM as had been widely speculated in the past few days but instead flipped to the "Jack FM Playing What We Want" format at 4 P.M. Central this afternoon.
"Audiences are demanding more from radio than the standard 350 song playlist, and San Antonio is no exception,” said CBS Radio/San Antonio Market Manager Reid Reker. “As we looked around the country for formats that are being embraced by listeners, Jack clearly stood out as a total success. It crosses all the boundaries and breaks all the rules and we look forward to bringing this fresh, fun and exciting presentation to San Antonio.”
And for those keeping score, this brings the total number of stations in CBS Radio's portfolio to feature the Jack format to 12.
With the move, the entire airstaff has been dismissed, however, PD Mark Landis remains firmly entrenched.
Speaking of Mr. Landis, congratulations are in order as he became engaged to the lovely Deborah Martin over the holiday break. No date for the upcoming nuptials yet.
Was listening to "Tell her about it" on 102.7 on the way home and kept thinking...would they play this on 102? Am I going crazy ? This isn't rock...is it? Then I heard the Jack FM dude, who says the most annoying . Like for Bob FM in Austin used to say, "It's like Waterloo Records...on Shuffle" Bua hahaha... ing spare me. Not only was that shamelessly pathetic, also completely untrue. Whoever created that little stupid plug has obviously never been to Waterloo.
RIP Free Beer ...gonna miss you dawg.
Screw Bob and Jack.
The return of NeoConIV!!!
Free.Free and Joe Chalupe belong together like rice and beans.
pssstt 102.7 is also free!
KTFM was sucking bad.
Anyone remember POWER 93 with Rick the Stick?

Thats Terrific, Thats Terrific.
KROCK bit the dust, ing unoriginal piece of hack station. Everything about this station was total Hack "hoo hoo, rip em off'" radio.
Krock, one of a dozen clones following in the shadow of Howard Stern's KROK New York
and even those "Free Beer and Catfish" character names...way to rip off "Free Beer" and "Hot Wings" from over in PA. Hacks.
Kid Chris was decent for Terrestrial radio while he was there but it stinks.
