Oh! I was just thinking about Beno and hoping he made it safe through the trade deadline.
I'm glad they said no.
Mike Barrett talked about the Spurs' interest in Blazer rookie Jarrett Jack during last night's TV broadcast. Barrett said San Antonio made an offer for Jack but were apparently rebuffed. The offer reportedly included 6-3 point guard Beno Udrih.

here is the statistic for J.Jack 6-3 Guard (selected as the 22nd pick by denver to portland)

And if it included Beno who and/ or what else was offered?
Didn't Buford just say that they would make no roster changes. I think I read that somewhere.
nobody wants Beno. of course he'd stay safe, unfortunately.
beno is not worth much. I know you porbably think he's cute and all, but he's not a good NBA player. Sorry
I think it was in yesterday's spurs notebook. I read that too.
At the very least he must have potential- after all he made it.
Had potential.
Why would Spurs want to trade one 3rd string rookie for another 3rd string rookie?

...who doesn't know our system. Good point.
Safe trade.
Maybe its as simple as they liking Jarrett Jack game better than Beno's. Nothing more. Nothing less.
If the Spurs must get somebody from the Blazers, get Viktor Khryapa, that guy's got sick game, could be a Bowen understudy too.
jack did lead the blaze in scoring vs the spurs wed. night...
I get the feeling that the Spurs are pretty ok with Beno. I could see them trading him under a package deal with another Spur for somebody big, but not for another rookie PG.
Beno's still a rookie??
Actually, I was impressed with how Beno played last year, until the playoffs at least, which I think is understandable. With time I'm pretty sure he has the potential to be pretty good backup PG, for us or another team. And when people start talking about trading Beno, what do we do for a backup next year when Nick is not here?
I can see two reasons :
- The FO think that Jack is a better fit for Spurs and for the playoff.
- The main reason : Beno/Jack will be the main backup PG next year. Jack will be a cheap backup for three years, Beno only for two.
Beno is not a Rook anymore.. he wears the Spurs ring.. kiss the ring fool.
Man talk about him like he sucks... hard to tell who is a Spur fan and not.
We really do not need a 3rd PG with Barry/Manu being able to handle that for short stretches and as well as Parker has played this year - I really would rather our roster if it changes, goes for a defensive tall forward for the Amare's, Dirk's etc. to spell Duncan, Nazr and Horry some.
There was a rumor of Beno for Jarrett Jack on the night of Jack was drafted. So obviously the Spurs have had some interest in Jack for this to re-surface again.
Kori:
Would you see Jack as an upgrade - i don't know much about him?
Beno for Jarrett Jack
This is joke!![]()

Who want to trade Beno for some not proven PG??
That would be really stupid trade. For almost all minutes in last Beno games he played good. ast game his stats were 4 min, 4 pts, 3 asists. He just dont get enough minutes. And Nick van Exel is not so constant in games. Sometimes he plays 20 min and score .....
this is kind of intersting since nve elebow got hurt
jack played for georgia tech in college. he was a pretty good player and led gt during their championship game appearance vs uconn 2 years ago when tech's leading scorer, elder, was out. he has big game experience and was a very solid pg in college. his jumper needs work, but he definitely has potential. imo we'd have to trade more than beno to get him, that's why blaze won't let him go.
