no matter who it was I think Millen will meddle and undercut whoever came in there. I don't honestly think Mariucci was a ty coach and could have done better, but Millen seems to be a meddlesome pain in the ass.
Like a lot of people here, I half-ass follow the Lions due to all the UT players that have seemed to wind up there over the years.
What do y'all think about Millen hiring Rod Marinelli, the Tampa D-Line coordinator, as head coach? I find it a little strange with guys like Jim Haslett, Mo Carthon, Russ Grimm, and Tim Lewis still around looking for head jobs (or with Jauron in house) - but nothing really surprises me with that organization anymore.
Anyway, I don't think that a position coach is the answer. What, besides throwing Joey Harrington into Lake Erie and hoping he floats to Cleveland, would you do?

that is it in a nuts . probably why a higher profile name wasn't selected.no matter who it was I think Millen will meddle and undercut whoever came in there.
Except there were no high profile guys out there; unless you consider Haslett high profile...
Mooch was his own worst enemy...
Not only did we get him as the head coach, but his son-in-law was the linebackers coach at TB and it looks like he is going to be our D coordinator. If this is the case, expect the Lions D to be really good next year. Now we just have to get the O-Line to learn how to block and our receivers to learn how to catch and we will be pretty good.
