fire him.
Pop got win #485 tonight.
It only took one post!![]()
Tpark is the only Bob Hill devotee left on the board!
Pop is still underrated, IMHO. He is still I think a bad offensive coach, but a great defensive coach. But overall, a good coach. Pop will get #500 this season fa sho'
did larry and pat get 1000win already???
Larry got his 1000th in the past few days.
Fire Pop!! Fire Pop!! Pop let us down! How dare he help the team win only three les. What a bum!! Fire Pop! Fire Pop!!
What is the record? Who? Where does Pop rank on the list?
Thanks.
He's got a ways to go on the total wins list. At the start of the season, he wasn't even in the top 20...yet. He just hasn't had enough games. (#20 was Alvin Attles with 557 wins).
Pop will probably crack the top 20 in total wins early next season, but it will take him a few seasons to coach enough games to hit the total games list (right now Chuck Daly and Alvin Attles are ties for #20 with 1075 games).
However, he was #6 all time in winning percentage.
To start the season, Pop was 455-233 for 0.653. At 30-9 this season so far, that puts him at 485-242 for 0.667.

The way Pop gets both over and underrated in this board has bipolar proportions.
Pop is .667 right now I think.
I thought this was a thread about Daytona.![]()

So, win #45 this season will be win #500 overall for Pop?
He should be able to make a pretty good dent in trying to reach the Top 20 in total wins by some point next season as well.
i agreed with that until we won the 'chip in '03
Barring unforeseen cir stances, he should crack the list, not just make a dent trying...
There was some Foo that posted here couple weeks ago that Larry Brown was ripping off Knicks.
Next season. He needs 557 to make the Top 20, and the best he can realistically expect this season is somewhere around 513-520 (that would be somewhere between 58 and 65 wins). So, this season, he can just make it easier to enter that group in the 2006-07 season.
