Eddy Curry is not slamming the Spurs. He's just dumb.
Thought this was funny after seeing this thread a few days ago: http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33064

Eddy Curry
On tonight’s game: That is a very good team. From the one man to the five man and the bench, that is a good team. They show every single game why they are the defending world champions.
On Detroit’s rebounding: Normally if you are the aggressor on rebounds, you are going to win the game.
More on tonight’s game: We got it down, we took a couple of shots we probably shouldn’t have taken, we got out of what cut into the lead and they got it back.![]()

Eddy Curry is not slamming the Spurs. He's just dumb.
How is he slamming the Spurs???
I don't get it.
He's not, I'm making fun of the "Omg! Tj Ford Slags Pistons" Thread when TJ called the Spurs the best team in the league that someone posted about 2 days ago..
Still not funny.
oK we get it. Detroit is the best team.
Now what?
It is pretty funny at first glance. One could assume he's talking about the conference, but one could just as easily assume he's not very smart.
This had nothing to do with who's the "Best team". Wow... nevermind.

You could assume that. Then realize he said defending world champs. I'll assume he's just slow.![]()
I always thought he was not very smart (some of the fouls he commits are plain dumb). This just confirms my su ions.
If there is a current defending world champion for men's basketball it would be Argentina. Actually the defending champion from the actual "World Championships for Basketball" is Serbia & Montenegro (Yugoslavia) and the new champion will be crowned in September in Japan.

I had Thai food the other night.
They tend to use a lot of curry in their recipes.
It's rather good.
It took me 3 reads to figure out the joke...damn I'm slow today.
Someone needs to remind Curry who the real defending world champs are, the next time they play the Spurs![]()
oops, skimmed over the word "world."
There really must not be much to do in Detroit this time of year. Just an observation.
The rule in the Spurs Forum is NOT "When you see a stupid thread, start a similarly stupid one."

Or, he could've made a mistake.
That's the point

This is why some people have a problem with Eddy Curries. There's more to life outside the Eastern Conference.
...the way the Pistons are playing...he might have just got confused!
(EDIT: For those who aren't all there "up top", please read this thread (^) first, or it will go over your head entirely.)and yet some still missed it!

Detroit returns the exact same starting five that won the 2004 World Championship, played in the 2005 NBA Finals AND are leading the NBA this year. Otherwise, they be damn good.
Curry's words were a complement to the Pistons, and not a slam on the Spurs.
Readers need to be smart enough to understand the general meaning of printed words, and not get caught up judging the intelligence of another on what could be a simple slip of the tounge ... or perhaps just a slip of a key stroke by an excited writer.
Readers don't need to smart about anything.
It certainly could be the case that it was just a slip of the tongue, but who really gives a ? It's there ready to be kicked about on the internets. I'm sure Curry wipes his tears from these insults with $100 bills.
Well said.Curry's words were a complement to the Pistons, and not a slam on the Spurs.
It is instructive how fans fly off the handle at any perceived slight of their team, though.
