If in the act of shooting.... it is a shooting foul.
If it does not drop, you go to the line for 2 free throws.
if it does drop, you get an "and 1" attempt. basically, 1 free throw.

so if you get fouled while shooting, do they count it as a shot attempt?
ie. tp got fouled, would they count his "missed shot", or no since he got fouled
