What is it??
Nasty ass imitation of nasty ass White Castle crap imitation burgers.
Thing in the paper yesterday said this Friday it will open. Now, from what I understand, people usually do a Krispy Kreme ordeal and wait in line all night because the first so many customers get free burgers or some like that. Now I do know that the Fatburger opened up this past Monday.
I used to live about a 1/4 mile from a Krystal. The burgers are really nothing special, but their breakfast scrambler bowls are top notch.![]()
Krystal aint bad.
White Castle is the shiznit.'
Krystal is pretty close.
WIll DEFINATELY have to check that out.
There's also a place opening up on Jones Maltsberger called Momak's that offers a 'bucket of burgers,' which I think has to be a White Castle type place.
Tried this today and i think they pretty much suck! Waited in the drive thu for about 40 min for this ! All your eating is bread, the patty is almost as thin as paper. Give me IN & Out any day over this crap.
White Castle's burgers are commonly known as 'sliders'.
Any one else been to the Fatburger lately?
Good. You can have mine.
I've eaten at a White Castle ONCE and a Krystal ONCE and both times ONLY because I was starving my ass off and they were the only places open. Oh the joys of over-the-road driving.
southeast side, be careful you'll get shot....![]()
its open but we should have got white castle here
I was born and raised in the South (Georgia and South Carolina) and cut my teeth on Krystal hamburgers. Maybe it's an acquired taste if you don't start young, but there's nothing better, I can assure you. My great-grandfather, my uncle, and my cousin used to go to the Krystal drive-in on 10 for $1 day (I think it was Wednesday when we were kids). My great-grandfather was a notorious cheapskate; he'd tell my uncle (who'd be driving) to "Order us a dollar's worth." The three of them would eat that 10, and he'd say, "Bubba, I'm still hungry, get us another dollar's worth!" And, they would eat all 10 of those, too. He ran a little store, so he made them take their own drinks (since they ate in the car).
I don't know anybody who couldn't eat at least 5 when I was growing up. You'd go uptown and get 2 huge bags (like shopping bags) full if you were feeding the whole family. I went through withdrawal when I came to Texas. There used to be one Krystal in Houston a long time ago, close to the Astrodome. My Dad would always stop there on the way home when we'd go to an Astros game and we'd get a couple of sackfuls.
About three years ago, a friend of mine and I went on a road trip to the North Carolina mountains. We came back through my hometown in North Georgia, and we went into a Krystal; she was 55 years old and had never eaten a Krystal hamburger (she grew up deprived in Oklahoma, poor thing). They had a special of 10 for $5 (my how times have changed
). She looked at me horrified and said, "I CANNOT eat 5 hamburgers!" I just grinned and told her, "Oh, yes, you can." When you get Krystals in the south, you sit down at the tiny little tables and line them up along the side of your table in their little boxes. I lined my 5 up and she watched me and lined hers up the same way. We started eating and neither of us stopped until all 10 were gone! It took about 5 minutes.

The next spring, we went on another road trip to Charleston SC (where I spent part of my childhood). On the way home, we were passing through Taledega Alabama at about 9 PM; it was NASCAR race weekend and there were three lanes of traffic, shoulder to shoulder, bumper to bumper running about 70 MPH. No motel rooms to be had within 200 miles. When we realized we were gonna have to drive to probably at least Tuscaloosa before we'd find a room, she spotted a Krystal and said, "Let's get out of this traffic and get some burgers!" She didn't have any problem with ordering 5 hamburgers apiece that time,. We just sat there with our little hamburgers lined up and munched out; after a couple of hours, we got back on the road. I can't believe ANYONE doesn't like Krystals!
Kinda like Whataburger![]()
In and out burgers are the . We need to e-mail those mofo's so they come to South Texas.

See, I never thought In-N-Out burgers were that great either.
But I used to laugh at the bumper stickers that had the letters b, r, and s removed.
I can't believe some people do!?!?
I refer to Krystal burgers as gut grenades.
i picked up some Krystals the other night, they were okay, but Whataburger is better, even McDonalds, so I don't plan to go back.
He didn't COOK you hamburger at home? The ?
Krystals??
Ehh..not so much. I went by last night at about 3am and I wasn't too impressed.
