I certainly enjoy the Phoenix style of play.. Especially when Stoudimire (sp) is playing.. Guess I would have to run with the Suns.....
which team would be your favorite?
For those of you whose favorite team is not the Spurs, assume that that team doesn't exist.
I think right now my favorite would be the Heat or Nets.. not really sure...

The Spurs- in particular Timmy- are what got me into basketball, so that is hard to answer.
I like the Mavs and they are from here so I would probably root for them.
I wouldn't have a favorite team, probably would have no interest.
Probably Chicago, mostly because of the Michael Jordan factor - if it wasnt for David Robinson, i - like everyone else at my school who already was, would of been a chicago fan.
Thank goodness there is a spurs team tho!
I'll stay with the spirit of the question and choose the Spurs. I'm not sure how I would respond to Michael Jordan's greatness because I was so influenced early in my life by the Bulls-Pistons rivalry, but the teams I have cheered for when the Pistons haven't been contending - Portland, Sacramento, Charlotte, and Miami - were all teams that made defense a priority(even if it was a chore) and/or passed the ball exceptionally well. Spreading the wealth on deep teams is important to me.
I think the San Antonio Spurs fit that mold. I'm not saying I would stay loyal to them past this era (I might) but their style of play is one I have consistently cheered for.
If the Spurs did not exist, I would not give a rat's ass about basketball.
same here, the Spurs are the reason why started playing basketball. If the Spurs did not exist, I would not give a rat's ass about basketball.
but then they put me off of the team their way. * coughputmeonthebenchthen behindthebenchcough*
Hmmm don't really know. My favorite team is only the Spurs. I did like the Bulls though because of Jordan and Pippen. So I guess I would go with the Bulls.
i was never a jordan or bulls fan cose i didnt wanna hop on the bandwagon like everyone in the 90s at school. Funny how i took them all to school with TDs post moves.
First team i followed was the knicks 91-94/95 (failed to beat the bulls) but love the fearsome frontcourt they had, then got pummled by the rockets...
95/6+ followed the spurs after seeing DROB lift up the mvp trophy and saw his muscles thats when i totally followed the empire. The team with drob/rodman/AJ never seen a lineup with healthy musculy-cut players on one team.
Currently now spurs and any teams in our division then the west conference then weak east bas s.
Seriously, i mean they're good this year but why??
Pistons. I was a Bad Boys fan before I moved to SA, so they wouldn't be hard to follow now.
Kori lived in LA for many years.
I grew up being a Magic Johnson fan and a closet Lakers fan. I moved to L.A. in 2000 right before the first Shaq-Kobe championship, and I liked watching that team then. So, I'd probably like the Lakers, except I probably would have jumped off that team a year later when Shaq got overly obnoxious and Kobe become even more egotistical.
I'm back in Detroit, so now, I probably would start following the Cavaliers because of LeBron James.
I'd be a chicago fan and then get off the bandwagon when MJ retired and follow whoever has the highest winning % in the league
Probably Portland since I live here. At least they're getting better with the young guys...now they just need to dump Patterson and eventually Randolph.
I would just follow the Big XII. The question is silly indeed, because if there were no Spurs, there would not be this thread or this site that Kori runs so well. Sorry, gotta get a bit philosophical on you!
GSG!!
I lived in L.A. for the majority of my life. And I always had half season tickets to Lakers and half season to Clippers (that's when the Clippers were bad) handpicking the games so I could watch as many good teams as possible. And I like Elton Brand a lot ... so why not?
The Gunslingers or the Alaska Snowdogs.
The underdog, the class act or the great story.
