I'm having this problem with my POS Mustang.

I already replaced the fuel pump once, and just replaced the fuel filter, but when I accelerate normally, it sputters about 5 or 6 times and doesn't accelerate properly.

Only when I go all the way down on the gas pedal does it give me any power.

I'm thinking the fuel injectors may be dirty, but I know little, if anything about cars.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks.

Yes, thank you, I'm already quite aware of that.

This is why the entire american car market is hitting the skids.

But it was a nice cheap car and it's paid off.

    Injectors maybe.

Take it to Northside Ford and let them take a look. Or another reputable mechanic.

Have you tried STP Fuel Injector Cleaner

To check if it's the wires, start it up at night open the hood and if the wires are bad you can see them arc

    Good Luck

Go to NS Ford if you got money to burn those bozos will poke your eyes out kid.

I had a similar or exact problem, Tillers Automotive on Bandera just outside 1604 fixed the problem for under 50 bucks. DOn't remember the exact problem but the symptoms were the same and it wasnt the fuel filter or fuel pump that was replaced.

I had a Ford once, a white bronco. You probably remember it. The best thing to do is take it to the dealer and let them diagnose it, then decide whether you want them to let fix it there, or take it somewhere else.

    Very funny, Obi!!!

When my fiancee and I get settled in the house in about 6 months, I'm going to buy a Camry and I want to buy her a Toyota 4Runner, but she wants a Jeep Commander, so we'll see. Maybe a Lexus RX330 (made by Toyota).

I actually replaced the spark plugs and wires just now and the problem went away.

if the problem comes back you could take it to jiffy lube or midas, they have high grade fuel injector cleaner. it costs $60 or so, but it really cleans out your fuel system - runs for 45 mins or so, and it's scary to see the black clouds billowing out of your car.

    spark problem...

    ie: coil, wires, plugs, etc....

    It's not a fuel problem.
