Why does this site restrict avatar sizes but allows huge pictures in signatures?

i cant even get my av small enough... and so you say "well its to save bandwith" but they admins allow huuuuuge member signatures with gifs and huge pics??? whats up with that?

Well, avatars are viewed on every post, so that would increase bandwidth more than the signature that is shown once per page.

Right, that's also part of the reason since the "huge" sigs do not come from the ST server. The small avatars on the other hand do.
