With plantar fasciitis, we probably won't see a dominant Duncan consistently this season.
if he doesnt exist any more then i guess we better hope our chodes that finley horry and barry hit barrage after barrage of clutch threes come playoff time
With plantar fasciitis, we probably won't see a dominant Duncan consistently this season.
thats sad cuz it seems pretty clear to me that the old duncan is only a memory now
who truely recovers from plantar fasciitis, and what incredibly bum luck that he gets this after he finally rested for a summer....this was supposed to be his big 'rebound' season
We need the Duncan that wins championships.
Oh, wait...we already have him.
i cannot logically expect this spurs team to overcome Detroit if Duncan is not able to do the damn thing
Let us not forget that it took 2 lucky lucky three point showings to win our last two championships...it'll take twice as much if Duncan can't take over games
what does timvp have to say about the duncan situation
Tim will step it up in the playoffs, as most of the spurs do. Detroit is the only real threat this year, even with a healthy Duncan, but I like our chances, and the fact that we are the defending champs by virtue of breaking their hearts helps a little as well.
Detroit plays best when they're losing though![]()
I just told him that you were beckoning him in this thread. He's working but I guess he'll answer you shortly.
Surely even he thinks Duncan is on a decline
His response will be interesting

Duncan doesn't try in the regular season. Each year, his effort level is less and less until April rolls around. If you watch him, he can still move and jump when he wants to. Come the playoffs, he'll be ready to play. I'm sure he has a case of PF, but also a case of WTWSGTWS.
Why try we still gon' win sixty.
Detroit must be thrilled at their chances knowing Duncans limitations.
Even though Detroit won both meetings against San Antonio I felt San Antonio came out flat for both games. They could've played better and beaten Detroit. I still don't understand why spurs fans say Detroit is their only threat.
They flat out wooped us cause we played like it was a regular game and they felt they had to prove something. It's not news, you know.
Dallas flat out wooped us and detroit...
I still see detroit as more of a threat though.
Because, uh, they are the best team in the NBA??I still don't understand why spurs fans say Detroit is their only threat
No, not the _Allas Mavericks either chump. When they get rid of clowns like Terry and Van Horn, thats when I'll take em seriously.
Exactly.Duncan doesn't try in the regular season. Each year, his effort level is less and less until April rolls around. If you watch him, he can still move and jump when he wants to. Come the playoffs, he'll be ready to play. I'm sure he has a case of PF, but also a case of WTWSGTWS
Robert Horry's apathy twords November through January and February has rubbed off.
Come March and April.
A rested and ready Tim Duncan will be gettin 24 and 12, 28 and 15.

Duncan, if given a day or two between games, is MORE than fine.
Also, if Duncan thinks during a game, I've gotta take it over, he WILL take it over.
He just doesn't feel the need anymore with the emergence of Ginobili and Parker, Finley, Van Exel, Bowen all stepping up from time to time too.
But Amare's going to come back and dominate next month. Haven't you seen all those magazine adds? "They said I couldn't do it........"
How many times do we have to rehash this for noobs that for some reason want Timmy to blow out something and get really hurt in regular season?
We have only 10 losses... what more do you want? It's all about the playoffs at this point why blow out something in our best player?
How many threads are we going to have about this. Duncan is playing with injury and he is not even playing that poorly with the injury. Give the guy a break.
I'm still trying to figure out what this means.i guess we better hope our chodes
Nope.we need the old duncan
we need the young Tim Duncan, the fresher Tim Duncan
BTW - what do you mean by saying old TD? The fifty, sixty or seventy years old?
gonHave to trade for Lamarcus
I didn't mean to say Detroit was our only "threat"..we're in the west, naturally any team can catch fire and bury any other team.
Dallas is playing quite well. Suns will be a force if Amare is 100% later.
But Detroit are ing beasts right now.
I kind of noticed how Duncan doesn't try very much the past 2 or so seasons, but he also seems lethargic in first rounds. Remember 2004? Tony did all the work in the first round then.
I don't like the 'why play hard now' strategy, sure he'll stay "healthy" or at least "healthier" but still....If I don't see a 4-down called this afternoon 3 times in a row and duncan banking it or scooping it in, then I'ma be pissed..
The best thing that could happen to the Spurs chances for the next 5 years would be for Amare Stoudemire to attempt a comeback from microfracture surgery after a few months.
