all day long...they show highlights and they talk about the NBA.

I think you're confusing NBA TV with the League Pass channels. At least on my provider, as soon as the broadcast cuts away from the arena to go to the studio, it stops and kicks over to the "NBA League Pass; Good Night!" slide, and the music starts (the same unbearable Miami Vice-sounding music that they've had for three years; sounds like a bad imitation of Steve Vai meeting Jan Hammer). If there's no game on, it's just a slide and the music, endlessly cycling. Pure torture.
