With the last 10 games with 8 win and 2 loses, now Houston is 3 games behind the Lakers for the last PO Place and a posible 1st round match up with the Spurs

What do you think, Kobe or T-Mac ......... ? Bruce is waiting

i want the lakers and you?

I'd rather have the Lakers. The Rockets are a team that if healthy (which they haven't been all season, but could be by May) could take the Spurs to six or seven, especially since the Spurs get out of the gate slow in the playoffs. No one has seen the best that Houston is capable of yet, while with the Lakers it's the Kobe show and not much else.

The Rockets resurgence means three more tough games down the stretch for the Spurs, who have the Rockets in San Antonio once and in Houston twice in the last 20 games of the season.

I don't fear Houston nor the Lakers. Houston doesn't have anything when it comes to a seven game series and neither does Los Angeles.

Only Houston plays .500 ball on the road & .375 at HOME.

They still aren't at full strength either. If they can hold of the injury bug a bit, they could do more damage than the Lakers, certainly. With Head, Hayes and Bogans, they have some nice young players to throw in with the experienced vets.

i have a feeling the grizz will fall out and houston will get in. grizzlies have lost a lot of games, and have dropped to the 7th seed.

To this point. If the Rockets get rolling, though, those numbers in the smaller set of more recent games will look much better.

The Rockets are a whole lot scarier than the Lakers. Give me the Lakers any day of the week for two reasons:

    1. The Lakers do not have near the talent that a healthy Rockets team does
    2. It's always good to kick the purple and gold's collective asses on the way to another championship

    rather have lakers...big time

yao is having his best 3-4 game stretch.....EVER

    26.7 Pts, 15.7 Rb, 55.3 FG%
    [last 3 games]
So, looking at this logically; the Rockets being, potentially MUCH better than there record indicates (didn't realize Yao was playing like that) - and that team living up to its preseason hype (finally).

A reasonable person could list these teams in the top 6 in the NBA (no order):

    Rockets
    Heat
    Suns
    Pistons
    Mavs
    Spurs

Spurs could have to play FOUR of those to win a ring!

    Bring it.

I was just telling someone last night-- the #1 seed could very well draw a surging Rockets team. They played great down the stretch last year as well- remember??

spurs basically played four divison leaders last year...nuggets were on fire

    nuggets sonics suns pistons

Yeah, but Rockets or Mavs were probably a tougher out than Denver or even Seattle (don't know maybe remembering it wrong)...

Would be nice to slip to number 2 seed, ya know:

Memphis, Denver/Ok City...not really right, is it?

Did a little research on Yao's numbers this year before and after his foot(toe)surgery.

    Before...28 games, 13 W's 15 L's, 33 mins/game, 19.7 ppg(on 13.9 shots), 8.5 rpg, 1.4 bpg,

    After...13 games, 10 W's 3 L's, 33 mpg, 20.7 ppg(on 15.5 shots), 10.6 rpg, 1.8 bpg

Looks like Yao was already headed for a nice year after finally getting rest from the Chinese team duties for most of the offseason. Read somewhere that his teammates say he was playing with some heavy duty pain with the toe thing. Never whined about it, but the team finally shut him down and had the surgery done. They say the surgery has allowed him to move around in the post alot easier...more boards and blocks I guess.

He just got the NBA player of the week with 26.7 ppg and 15.7 rpg. Looks like they might be on the way back, although most of the 10-3 was against suspect compe ion. We'll see what happens as their schedule gets tough the rest of the way.

Hopefully they make it to the playoffs(Go Texas Teams). Either way, it's nice to see Yao become a legit 20-10 player. He's gotten bashed pretty heavily for being so overhyped. He's a very "Spurs-like" NBA citizen so it'd be nice to see people ease up and stop hatin' on the guy. He's been slow getting to this point, but who knows, maybe he'll keep improving and be a 24-12 guy when all is said and done.

Houston is tough. That one seed in the west may not be all it's cracked up to be. Still, I would prefer the Spurs to be have homecourt thru out the playoffs, even if that means playing a damn good Houston team.

Spurs have showen they have trouble scoring against the Rockets before, while they have had no trouble beating post-Shaq Lakers.

I'll take the Lakers, plus the Spurs would get the added satisfaction of another sweep against them
