Admiral talk
Hearing that David Robinson said Phoenix with Stoudemire "couldn't win a series against our guys (Spurs)," the Suns were not shocked by his loyalty.
However, Shawn Marion said: "If you get that swagger going and catch fire, you can go all the way. That's going to happen sometimes. I wouldn't sit there and say somebody's got their number. Never that. At the end of my rookie year, we blew them out (3-1 in the first round) when you were playing, David."
Hey! Was that some smack or was that a gnat on the back of my neck?
The difference, of course, Shawn, is that your Suns team beat a Spurs team with no Tim Duncan. I don't know that beating the Spurs in that playoff series was the result of your team getting hot, or the result of the Spurs being hamstrung without Duncan. In any event, congratulations on going all the way . . . . to a second round elimination that year.
What an ass. Robinson says the simple fact that even at full strength the Suns couldn't beat the Spurs. Marion breaks out the fact that the Suns managed to beat up a Duncanless team. Impressive.
Nice Marion; How have the past TWO series with SA (including one which included 5-0) worked out for y'all?
