but will whiny ass cuban send the play of stackhouse throwing his forearm into Horrys face to the leagues officials???
its like you cant touch the nazi... you dirk
The Spurs are still it...but hopefully you saw a few things that show you the Mavs have improved in a lot of areas. For those of you willing to admit it anyway.
Now I'm going to go eat some chocolate, listen to "Bad Day", and pretend like I don't know what the NBA is for a while.![]()

On the one hand, the Mavs have definitely upgraded. We all knew that.
On the other hand, the Spurs shot 62% in the second half. And Dirk still has no low-post game.
I'm glad I went against my better judgement and bought these Double Stuf Oreos![]()
I respect your post but I have said it before and will say it again, how can you fear this Mavs team as one that had both Nash and Finley on it. Howard is a stud and AJ a very good coach but I do not fear this team as much as the team that went up against the WCF Spurs in the finals.
Reason I believe deep down the Spurs know that they have the better superstar period and with Parker and Ginoblili at this side, they should fear no one.
Dallas has improved on D, but the all O team used to take us down to the buzzer all the time. This team rolled over more easily.
BOOOOHOOOOOO
What a great game that was. Dallas was great except in a few areas such as TOs and not being aggressive enough in the 3rd period. SA shot lights out and they were really up for this game once they got their confidence going. 32 points in the 3rd after scoring 36 in the 1st half was huge.
Chocolate is good for the soul, adrienne.![]()
Lol, I like Adrienne. She's cool. Send me a pic, girl!!![]()
Me and my almost empty oreo package would have to agree.Chocolate is good for the soul, adrienne.
Dallas is now, definitively, a defensive team.
And Dirk is now, definitively, Bowen's .
Props on both.

you asshole.
mavsfan1000 is to not be made look bad in this forum. he has an answer for every wrong doing. he is all knowing. he is mavsfan for 1000 years it takes for them to get a championship.
the truth hurts ... how will the mavs take this loss? they probably went to the plane and burned some incense
I don't get it. Mouse makes a thread like this (after me) and the sane, normal members of the forum thank him. I make this thread, and I get a bunch of angry children with newly learned swear words and "I know you are but what am I" insults.![]()
He called Dirk a nazi.
Dallas improved to playing good D but not for an entire 48 mins. against a contender. Dirk doesn't flirt with the 3 as much but he still needs to get that back down going to put more pressure on the opposing defense.
I do notice the Mavs playing better D. It tapered off in the 2nd half.
Terry had a nice game and Howard was killing us in the key.
and i call him a damn kraut. your point is...................
Bowen curb-stomped the out of Dirk.
Thanks for being a classy Mavs fan adrienne. Now where's that guy DMFFL341? Come eat your crow!![]()
I saw a lot of change, I'm not sure much progress has been made. I like the defense. I don't like the rebounding, especially in the second half. I don't like the team standing around as Dirk launches up another jumper over Bruce Bowen. Isos will not win against teams like San Antonio and Detroit. To beat the best defenses, there has to be more ball-movement, and I think the problem is the Mavs have too many isolation players in their offense. They went too far in the other direction from the team they were two years ago.
I really do not like the Diop/Dampier matchup with the Spurs. They did some good things, especially early on, but when Pop leaned into Nazr to be more agressive, the game was split wide open. That was a problem for the Pistons last season, and it's why Kelvin Cato and Dale Davis are on the roster right now. I don't see Keith Van Horn, Diop, and Dampier as the answer. It will be exploited in the coming second-round matchup.
I like the perimeter defense. Stackhouse's block was great. Josh Howard was amazing at both ends. I loved seeing Nowitzki going at Manu. But there's little recognition passing below the 3-point arc. They didn't look agressive enough to beat a team like the Spurs.
Whatever it is, it isn't there.
In terms of personnel, I think for Nowitzki to be an exploitable matchup, they need a guy like Nazr or Udonis Haslem, or someone with that Charles Oakley-Tyrone Hill mentality. He's going to do nothing but crash the backboard, he has a high basketball IQ, and he can score off of tip-ins and open shots when someone leaves to go guard Dirk. He's a walking matchup problem. But when the 7-footer is playing 2-guard, I don't see any shooting guards acting like 7-footers. This means that there's two Spurs bigs at the basket and no one to keep them off the glass. This problem is compounded by the lack of ball-movement.
In short, in a seven-game series the Mavericks will not win. It will be for different reasons than in 2001 and 2003, and it will be closer than usual, but the bottom line will remain the same.
Crap, this day really does just bite! The Mavs lost, my brother's guinea pig died, and because my apartment was hot I opened the window...and there's a skunk out there somewhere and the smell is overwhelming.
