Now more than ever the Spurs need their bigs to play like that alongside TD. It's kinda sad how we get excited about seeing a Spurs center send a few balls through the rim with authority.
First half Nazr =![]()
Second half Nazr=![]()
His defense still has a ways to go, and if the Mavs were less perimeter oriented things might have gone differently, but on the offensive side he was exactly what was needed. That dunk was "sick", as the kids would say.
I'm glad to see that he finally read my letters to him...don't think...just slam the damn ball...I was freaking jumping out of my seat everytime he would do that...with some authorituh...
All season I have screamed at Nazr to "dunk the goddamn ball".
Way too many of those little floaters he sends up never make it through.
Looks like someone finally gave him the message.
Go Nazr. Keep it up
P.S. your dunk on Dampier was ing sick.
Actually, I thought he was the only starter who started the game with energy and effort. He didn't have much to show for it stat-wise, but he, Horry, and Barry were the only guys doing anything out there until TP got hot at the end of the half.
I'll give you that. He brought the hustle, as he usually does. My only issue with his play was his interior D. There were at least three times I can think of where one of the Spurs had to give him a talking to after a Mavs bucket.
I don't want anyone to think I'm a Nazr hater. This was as good a game as I've seen him play all year (sadly I couldn't watch the Portland game.) If he can look like this night in and night out then the Spurs look really scary.
Nazr was a factor for the spurs in this game he slammed down with authority
way to step it up dude.
you saw that you were sucking and you improved.
You improved beyond what anyone was expecting.
you brought a tear to my eye.
and yes, that dunk was sick. kick ing ass.
Nazr was the in the second half. He and Tony were Co-MVP's of the 3rd quarter.
P.S. When are they gonna start running the high screen/roll with Duncan and Nazr. It worked the one time they ran it with Horry and Duncan beautifully.
"his interior D."
I always am yelling at him to step up and out, get his long harms and hands up to challenge the drivers and jumpshooters only a couple feet away, esp last night when Spurs were getting killed in the paint in the first half. Nazr either waits too long to step up, or is up and then back pedals with the driver trying to block the shot. He doesn't seem to understand he can block/alter the driver by getting his body into and holding position.
Last night was a rare game where the Spurs lost the paint but won the game.
Is there a picture of that dunk?...that was really sick!!!!
Nazr was the MVP of last night's game no doubt.
Nazr is the , I hope he will build up on that and eventually have Shaq-like skills come playoff time
I'd have to say Bowen.
As they kept running plays for him with Dirk on him, you could see his confidence building, culminating in his ownage of Dampier.
I was just happy he was able to finish a one handed dunk without losing the ball.![]()
HE HAD 3 ONE HAND DUNKS ONE UNCONTESTED AND ONE ON DIRK
Needless to say I was 3x's happy last night! Make it 4x's if you count the win.
Playoffs approaching,
Trade deadline passed.
It's time to get Nazty.![]()
