marion and kurt thomas were sick and sent home with the flu wednesday
sounds like they are chickens though since nash will not be 100% IF he plays
Hi everyone, I didn't see anything about this here yet.
I just got home from the office and Hubby told me that at least 2 Suns have the flu-- he said he heard it on suns report on the radio. He mentioned Marion would be out, but didn't hear the other players.
Anyone else with info on this? I guess we will know soon enough.

Marion just didn't want any part of Bowen again. Bowenitis.
Thanks ducks.
no sweat GO SPURS!
Well that sucks. After this ugly Sixer/Nugget event. I was looking forward to a good game........and a possible Spur loss!!
Oh well.
Go Spurs!
Don't mean to split hairs here, but Kurt Thomas is out 6-8 weeks with a foot injury. Tim Thomas is the one out with the flu.
I've heard reports that they're going to play, despite the sickness.
Great, if we win we will be bombarded with excuses.
So no excuses for losing then.
All I am saying is that my husband heard this on the Suns Report with Al McCoy tonight on the radio.
Of course everybody knows that only Spurs players can legitimately miss games. If players from another team playing the Spurs sit out, they're just scared of Bowen.
If Al McCoy said it, then it's probably true then. Let's hope things change by tip-off.![]()
Just kidding Gerryatrics. However, Allen might have a flareup of his vaginitis.
Ok- now my husband said Marion et al are questionable for tonight and that they missed practice on Wed (which you probably already knew). Sorry for the confusion. He was watching Survivor and trying to tell me what was going on.![]()
Last year when Duncan and Ginobili sat out, it totally messed with the Suns' heads. So if all these Suns players sit out, it will mess with the Spurs' heads, right? After all, the Suns are #1 in the weekly NBA.com Power Rankings, so if the Spurs don't get to measure themselves against a full-strength Phoenix squad, I doubt half a decade worth of playoff experience for the existing core and three les can extinguish the inevitable and crushing self-doubt.
Brilliant move by D'Antoni.
Great. I hope the Spurs have all had their flu shots!
They'll prolly play, and cough and sneeze all over Duncan outta spite. Duncan just got over some of that stuff that seems to be making the rounds of the NBA. All that blood, sweat and tears (good band, btw)...and all those damn microbial nasties.
NBA body gloves anyone?
Think of the marketing potential!
Kobe played 2 games with a sinus infection that had moved into his chest ... he scored 42 points one of the games and 40 points the other game.
I hope the Suns play through it.
Damn... I was looking forward to this one.
CIA Pop > FEMA D'Antoni.
This just in, the first case of bird flu in the US has been detected in Phoenix. A couple of the Suns chicken players got it.
Nash and Barbosa are out for tonight. Both have leg injuries.
Bell and House will man the point position with Diaw and House handling most of the duties.
All I can say is, wow.
Nash, Barbosa out vs. Spurs

Steve Nash will miss his first game of the season tonight against San Antonio because of the ankle he sprained in Monday's game but the Suns got even worse news when Leandro Barbosa went to the emergency room at a local hospital this evening with a right groin injury.
James Jones, who missed last game with a toe joint injury, will start the game in place of Nash. That likely leaves skillful center Boris Diaw and shooting guard Raja Bell to run the offense until Eddie House enters the game. Andre Barrett, at the end of a 10-day contract, may also see some time tonight.
Nash had not tested the sore right ankle until this evening but it was not ready to go.
"It's precautionary," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "He's just not 100 percent. We're not going to parade him out there."
The Suns have four games in five days starting Sunday.
huh? emergency room for a right groin injury? right nut injury?
Nash AND Barbosa? haha... This will be a blowout.
