Umm... you must have missed the last few weeks when Laura was there for some time in the same place where Woodruff got injured...
But thanks for spreading the wingnut shill from the demos in the interest of equal time.
ABC NewsOver the last 24 hours, ABC News has been reading hundreds of messages sent in by viewers in response to President Bush's claim that the media are undermining support for war in Iraq.
Viewer opinions ran the gamut, but the vast majority believed the media were biased in their Iraq coverage.
"I ask you this from the bottom of my heart, for a solution to this, because it seems that our major media networks don't want to portray the good," a woman from West Virginia asked President Bush at a recent town hall.
Teena from Wisconsin agreed.
"If we have the capabilities of the media and we can see the blood, bombs, killing and horror, shouldn't we also see the teaching, cleanup, building, training of soldiers … and the many other great things I know our soldiers are doing for us?" she wrote.
Maybe ABC News Should ask Bob Woodward how dangerous Iraq really is?
Keith Olbermann had a great line attacking wing-nut, talk-show host laura Ingram who spewed this latest Karl Rove talking point yesterday on her show...
I think that if Sean Insannity, Rush Limpballs, or any other of these wingnut media shills who are spreading this latest NeoCon propaganda really think Iraq is safe, then why aren't they broadcasting from there? But before we do, a note about Laura Ingraham‘s comments. I‘ve known her a long time. I‘ll in fact give you the caveat that I‘ve known her socially.
But that hotel balcony crack was unforgivable. It was unforgivable to the memory of David Bloom, it was unforgivable in consideration of Bob Woodruff and Doug Vogt, it was unforgivable in the light of what happened to Michael Kelly and what happened to Michael Weiskopf. It was unforgivable with Jill Carroll still a hostage in Iraq.
And it‘s not only unforgivable of her, it was desperate, and it was stupid.
Yeah, I thought so.

Oh Dan - maybe if you'd listen to Laura's show you'd realize how stupid you sound (but, probably not!)
Laura has been very vocal in her support of the journalists who have gone out among the people and troops. She's given high praise to Bob Woodruff and voiced her concern about his injuries.
Laura was in Iraq for 10 days and reported several times EACH day on what she was doing. Those shows were very enlightening, entertaining, and, many times, emotional. She put on the full body armor and went out with the troops.
Listen to something other than the left-wing nutjobs and you might get a different perspective!
BTW, I saw Laura on the Today Show and she was great. She simply said that if the networks can spend all the money to cover the olympics and the "Where in the world is Matt Lauer", then they should be able to go to Iraq and cover EVERYTHING that is happening there. I think it's hilarious that she kicked the hornet's nest and it was the topic of conversation on every news program and talk show for the rest of the week. KUDOS TO LAURA!!! She just said what many of us think!!
Her hairstyle looked horrible
Again, you guys show your total lack of knowledge. Laura is still recovering from breast cancer and she underwent chemo and radiation treatments last fall and winter. Her hair is still growing out!Her hairstyle looked horrible
Again, your idiocy is showing!!
Laura Ingram goes to Iraq and now everything is OK.
The wingnut hosts probably took a poll and Ingram lost.

She can still get a better cut. There is no excuse for bad style.
plus, she's a hateful .
Here's more good news from Iraq (not a parady)
Most US Soldiers Not Dead
The Hoboken (N.J.) Advertiser, March 19, 2006, p. A5
WASHINGTON -- Contrary to widely-held belief, the vast majority of United States military personnel who are currently serving or have served in Iraq are not dead. High-ranking Pentagon officials have expressed concern that the constant drumbeat of media coverage of US soldiers killed or wounded in the Iraq War -- some of it cleverly disguised as efforts to "remember the fallen" -- may have led to the mistaken impression among the American people that most US soldiers deployed to Iraq are deceased. This is, emphatically, not the case.
"The Department of Defense recently ordered a thorough review of American casualties in Iraq compared to the total number of American troops deployed there," said Pentagon spokesman Lt. Colonel Ernest Smythe. "The findings are quite stunning. While most of the media attention has been paid to the two thousand or so military personnel who have been killed in Iraq, the real story is that well over one hundred thousand American men and women in uniform are not dead at all, and most likely will not become dead during the course of this war. Why isn't the media covering them?"![]()
I'd be interested to see evidence that the Hoboken Advertiser is an actual publication.
I'll give you a week.

CNN.com, January 15, 2006
BAGHDAD -- Move over, Eminem! M.C. "Shock-N-Awe" al Jumairi has a "bangin'" hip-hop sound that is "straight outta Baghdad," and he even spells "Shock-N-Awe" with a backwards "N" just like Eminem spells his name with a backwards "E". CNN correspondent Nic Robertson went searching for human interest stories in the impoverished neighborhoods just outside the heavily fortified "Green Zone" and found this charming 12-year-old "M.C." who was "busting rhymes" about his new-found freedom, and life in Iraq after the fall of hated dictator Saddam Hussein.
Through a translator, CNN asked al Jumairi if he thought that the United States was "the Shizzle," and he said that it was.

Investor's Business Daily, January 21, 2006, p B1
NEW YORK -- Wall Street is bullish on Iraq.
While most investors have shied away from the volatile stock offerings on the fledgling Baghdad Stock Exchange (BSE), a small group of savvy financiers is making a killing with a carefully selected portfolio of investments in high-growth Iraqi industries.
"I loaded up my portfolio with Iraqi stocks in the firearms, security services, fertilizer, and mortuary services sectors," said Carl Harriman, a fund manager at Merrill Lynch. "In 2005, I just sat back and watched it grow. Exhilarating!"
Bush Administration officials say that the experience of these forward-looking investors, and the explosive growth in certain Iraqi sectors, shows that the entire Iraqi economy is poised to take off sometime in the near future.

The New York Times, March 20, 2006, p A1
MOSUL, Iraq -- It was a beautiful sunny day in the desert just outside the Iraqi city of Mosul, when suddenly Hanan Amraoui, 7, had her entire world torn apart by a stray mortar s left behind by American soldiers. She was found, unconscious, two hours later by a group of coalition soldiers on a routine patrol of her neighborhood who took her to a local United States military clinic. Now, a year later, this charming little girl has no legs, one eye, and permanent burns on 60% of her body, but she hasn't lost her spunk.
"Both of her parents are dead and as far as we know she doesn't have any other family, so we kinda adopted her here at the clinic. We fitted her with some prosthetic legs and when she uses her crutches she's almost as fast and agile as a regular girl," said Dr. Kevin Brown, an American doctor at the clinic. "She has the most beautiful eyes -- I mean, eye -- and a smile like an angel. We just love her to pieces."
Others at the clinic agreed. "She's really an inspiration to all of us," said Private First Class Aaron Maxwell. "It almost makes you not feel so bad about accidentally leaving that mortar s out where she could play with it."

I feel sorry for anyone who would read those "stories" and not realize they are meant to be jokes.
I'll pass this along to NBAdan, since he's obviously been duped. This is not your day.
It's obvious that the original poster on DU was passing them off as real stories.
Now, maybe he got them in his email (a la Hook Dem) and they were originally intended to be jokes.
Who needs a week? The New-Jersey Advertiser is publicly known as the New Brunswick Advertiser
Constant ReaderTogether, they started the first New Brunswick newspaper, The Political Intelligencer and New-Jersey Advertiser.
Here is a listing of the New Brunswick-Advertiser. The newspaper, although not widely known, publishes weekly. The The Belvidere Apollo was known as the the New-Jersey Advertiser for awhile, maybe they reverted back to that name.
So when were they known as the Hoboken Advertiser?
Yes, very convienient. This was never published in Investor's Business Daily.

Dan, the New Jersey Advertiser is not a current publication either. Those are papers that existed at one time (the 19th Century), but not anymore.

The credit is clearly for a New-Jersey paper. Why don't you ever scrutinize the 'do ents' that the administration always put out to try and save their necks with such verocity, Sperminator?
