I understand that Timmy was out, the point I'm trying to make is that they weren't firing on all cylinders heading into the playoffs.
It's stupid to compare Spurs 06 to Spurs 05, team or record.
The 06 Spurs aren't playing the 05 Spurs in the playoffs, and aren't in HCA race against the 05 Spurs or any 05 team.
The only teams and records that count now are the 06 records and teams.
All I'm saying is that last night was just a loss. Nothing more, nothing less.
And the Spurs were in HCA race against Phoenix last year until Duncan went down.
"just a loss. Nothing more, nothing less"
ok, why not apply that logic and just lose all 82 games, or lose all the games after the ASB? why not just rest for the playoffs?
How is it stupid to compare the 06 Spurs with the 05 Spurs? It's stupid to compare Spurs 06 to Spurs 05, team or record.
I would give it to you if you said it's stupid to compare the 03 Spurs with the 06 Spurs, because that was a different team with and different situation. However, this is virtually the same cast of characters as last year and just like last year, this team is hobbling into the playoffs. I don't think it's stupid to compare the two years.
I said that out of context. I'm sure the Spurs are upset about the loss."just a loss. Nothing more, nothing less"
I meant that for us as Spurs fans (hence the le of the thread)
Don't be a dumbass. That's going a little overboard, and you know it.

Potential Eastern Conference Finals opponent lost and the Spurs had a chance to pick up a game in the win column. Now the Spurs will have to hope the Pistons lose three more than the Spurs from this point on, to gain home court advantage.
Ya, most don't get it.
The Spurs don't give a about anything but the playoffs. I've come to realize that. The problem is, they are starting to put their fans into the same mode.
Why is everyone so upset!!!
I can't speak for anyone else, but for me it'd have to be because of the fact that I have to go and clean up after the tornado that went through my kitchen.![]()

Yeah, the Spurs should in start taking every game seriously.
If they go up against Detroit in the finals, they will regret losing these bull games and maybe will learn something about the importance of every game.
When Detroit went through their amazing start in the the first half of the season, all the Spurs could do was hope that they will stop dropping some games. Well, they have done just that, and the Spurs haven't taken advantage of it.
They've had perfect opportunities to take HCA.
Holy cow, the Spurs had a 3 game losing streak last March?!? I forgot all about that. I would love to look back and see how many fans were leaping off the bandwagon after that Indiana game.
The Pistons are 8-5 so far in March.
That is exactly what the Spurs could have hoped for...
Why am I still upset? Because rather than this team rounding into playoff form, they are literally giving away easy, games to inferior teams.
I'm not saying they won't come around and I'm not predicting doom and gloom. I'm simply still "pissed" because I'm tired of seeing them get "pushed" around during late stages of the games (Denver and Seattle). I'm tired of seeing them make ing mental mistakes (like the Horry push out with 35 seconds left, where he should have instead called a timeout) that cost them possessions.
It's bad enough that they are turning the ball over at a high rate, but to see "bonehead" plays down the stretch of games (like turning the ball over on critical possessions, like failing to block out on the defensive glass, like failing to close out on clutch shooters, like giving up 4-point plays) all of which are inexcusable for an experienced team like the Spurs.
Hey all teams have lapses - we know this. However, they should be putting the "squeeze" on these inferior teams - not bailing them out.
In fact, all Spurs championship teams of the past few seasons were playing their "best" brand of ball heading into the playoffs.
Guess you can tell I'm still pissed. The 24 hour rule usually works with me, but not this time.
Yeah, Tim sprained his ankle in the 1st 2 minutes in Detroit...then they dropped the next two games, as well.
I hear you on that one. I used to be like that, but then I realized that there was nothing I could do to change it. Now I just go to sleep after a game (win or lose).I can't speak for anyone else, but for me it'd have to be because of the fact that I have to go and clean up after the tornado that went through my kitchen.
Yeah I clearly remember the ankle sprain loss (we were at a GTG at Kennedy's) but I just don't recall the fan reaction when they dropped the next two.
Think "it's the end of the world as we know it!", and that probably summed it up about right![]()
I just meant the mess I've made the last 2 nights of cooking dinner.![]()
I don't get all suicidal/depressed/mad/emotional/hormonal/etc. when the Spurs lose....there's really not a lot I can do about that except send as much mojo their way as I can. Having to clean up after myself in the kitchen is about the only thing that really upsets me.

Dang, 68-104 last year vs Dallas?
"this team is hobbling into the playoffs"
Not true. Tim and Manu are playing at 100%.
Tim especially has been a huge surprise and relief.
Manu might be close to 100%, but you're crazy if you think Tim is 100%. Tim will not be 100% until next year. Just like in the playoffs last year, Tim will just have to play through it. Sure he shown signs, but the man is hobbled. Manu just got back into the swing of things only to see something happen to Parker. I'd say this team is hobbling towards the playoffs. There certainly not hitting on all cylinders. Not true. Tim and Manu are playing at 100%.

It was all about No Tim no win.
I remember Manu telling that taht games was realy strange because of that they didn't knew what was with Timmy.
Timmy even on the bench giving some kind of faith or whatever you want to call it.
I think with healthy Timmy they didn't even lost 10 games. 100% not even 10 games
