Tony 50-50 for tomorrow's game-- lot of pain-- hard to push off it.
Beno probably out- sprained ankle EARLY in Clippers game.
Tony might as well rest, I don't want him to come back and aggrivate his injury. We need him for the play-offs.
Parker is 50/50 for tomorrow (Lakers). Hard to push off on his leg. Beno is also out, as it stands now.
Tony will miss a maximum of 3 games, maybe just 2. It's not an injury like a groin injury.
Edit* Sorry, duplicate thread.
Inappropriate for Ray Allen to call NBA-- up to GM or office. Not player's place to do this. I think Pop called it "weak."
Great minds think alike-- at exactly the same time.![]()
Brent Barry may start and NVE back-up at point guard.
Not much else on this show.
It's been several minutes since the beginning of the show but I also remember Pop saying he was pleased with the Spurs performance vs. the Clippers. He said the team is starting to throw the ball ahead more (not relying on the dribble) and working the inside/out better and improving on their ball movement...their skips (skip passes), reversals, and draw and kicks.
Any indication that we may see more of Brent Barry at point guard even after everyone is healthy?
I doubt Pop would annouce demoting Beno and Nick while they were injured.
I was hoping more of a CIA comment such as: "we liked what we saw out of Brent at the point and we may or may not see more of that in the future."
He really said that?
Wel if Tony and Beno both sit out tomorrow night, he plays PG pretty much by default.
This shouldn't be a surprise because Brent primarily ran the point during hist last couple of years with the Sonices. Before the maturation of Ridnour, coach McMillian felt Barry was by far and away their best playmaker.
I heard that too.Inappropriate for Ray Allen to call NBA-- up to GM or office. Not player's place to do this. I think Pop called it "weak."
Awesome!
No, He wouldn't bench Van X to a 3rd string PG (only if he sucks up the first round of the playoffs)
Get's the nod.Mix 'em up. Use the balance to your advantage.
So, we're in a pinch with PGs 1 and 3 out.
If Nick's 'bo isn't too bad, he starts and Brent backs up. Not bad at all.
Why? He has done it before.
Boutons, Ill put money on Barry starting....
Thinking in chess terms, it's more about using IMbalances for an advantage.
I don't care who starts, but I figure Pop will go with Nick, 'bo permitting.
Anyway, we STILL have two credible vets to initiate the offense, and Manu to take it over in crunch time. An embarrassment of riches. Compare with Jason Hart and AC two years ago.![]()
