Now we can set our sights on the Lakers' #1 spot.

...and I thought it might be this year.g
San Antonio Spurs 1487-1012 .595
Boston Celtics 2809-1940 .591
We passed the Celtics for all time regular season win %, and are now second. They've been in a free-fall since Bird left, and we have been on afterburners since Tim got here. I was looking at my spreadsheet tonight, and if the Spurs win 63 this year, their 5 year running average will be 60 wins.
Congratulations, Spurs.
Now we can set our sights on the Lakers' #1 spot.

Exstatic, or anyone....what is the Lakers' record, winning %???
I remember a couple of yrs ago that it was about 5% higher than the Spurs, it will take a while for SA to catch them.
It's pretty out of reach. They were 2761-1722 .616 at the end of 2004. It took like 4 years to close a 10 point gap with Boston, and that's with us kicking ass and them sucking ass.
Here's are the numbers through the end of last season:

Here's another number that I find pretty remarkable:
Not counting tonight's game, the Spurs and Lakers have played 124 regular season games against each other. The Lakers lead the all-time series 63-61 (though it will apparently soon be 63-62). In those games, the Spurs have outscored LA, but the difference between the teams over 124 games is 7 points. The Spurs have scored 13109 points against LA; the Lakers have scored 13102 points against SA. Talk about a series that has been pretty damned close.
Just look at Phil with that smug look on his face!!!!!!!!!!!
Too proud to probably shake Pops hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No Ronny Turiaf after party tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good effort though.
Yeah, just to track this chase. The web page I had found only had totals thru 2002, so I used those as my starting point. I had to then research the last 4 years of wins and losses for the two teams, and added in the year to date records.
nice work excel boy.
I'll be you have a spreadsheet for each kegler league, Sequ, with up to the minute averages.![]()
