Screw them... congrats Lachino!
He tried to bury this in the Boobietar thread:
Or maybe, since he's just the bossman, we should be congratulating all the people who actually did the work!

Way 2 Go Joe!!!!
Many thanks, everybody.
I can't begin to explain how it felt on Saturday to sweep General Excellence (submit three consecutive issues to show quality on a daily basis), Best of Show (one issue to bring for live judging) and Sweepstakes (combination of live compe ion and pre-published material).
This year has been so trying for me personally and professionally. Like I said in another thread, it's fast nearing its end and I think it's for the best that I'm moving on, but it's still tough.
I've poured my heart and soul into this place night-in and night-out for a year-and-a-half and I live and die with every issue. It's been a of a trying time, especially these last few weeks, but it's okay.
This is only a few of the people who work at The University Star.
Oh...and I was News Editor for one of the semesters in compe ion time. I got first place for Sports Column and a third place in Editorial Writing at the live compe ion. It was the first time I won at TIPA personally, so that was nice.
Again, many thanks to my ST family...and the boobs!
And yes, the guy kneeling in the front row (Design Editor Matt Rael) is wearing a suit and boxers.
Congrats my brotha!!!!
Very cool, congratulations.
Not suprising.
We know how talented Lachino is, and how well versed and talented at journalism he is.
It was only a matter of time.
Congrats.
Nice job dude!
What a great accomplishment! Serious, serious ups to you, Blaze!! It's so wonderful to see hard work be justly rewarded.
Kinda looks like a mouse-in-training.
Way to go Joe!!! Congrats to the LACHINO!!!!![]()
It's great to put your heart into something and it pays off and your successful.
Best feeling ever.
Congrats!
Good job, Joe.
What's next for you?
niiiice
congrats!
Congratulations!![]()
Well, earlier this year, I was selected as a Chips Quinn Scholar (a program for teaching minority journalists). With that, I go to Arlington, VA to the Freedom Forum from May 18-21 for a four-day training and orientation session, but they were nice enough to pay for me to fly up there about five days sooner so I can have my own vacation (I found a great deal on hotel plus car, so I'm going to explore the Washington area, catch a ballgame or three, etc.)
After that, the program placed me as an intern at the San Angelo Standard-Times working as a general assignments reporter on the city desk.
Hopefully after that, I can walk right into a job at a good daily or area weekly (I talked to some people at the SA Current about an associate editor position they have available).
I'll only have 13 hours left to get my degree, but I need to move into the job market now so that I'm not the Fabricio Oberto of journalism rookies. I've set a goal for myself of completing those 13 hours in three years so that I can finally get my degree.
Awesome! Good work Joe! Congratulations!![]()
Awesome. Keep it to continue!!!!
