The poll is far from definitive
http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=416179Also, Phoenix's Boris Diaw was the choice for most improved player with the Hornets' David West a distant second and New Jersey's Nenad Krstic third; Detroit's Wallace edged San Antonio's Bruce Bowen for defensive player; and Memphis' Mike Miller won comfortably over the Hornets' Speedy Claxon for the sixth-man award
And Timmay in third AllNBA team

The actual voting hasn't even ended yet.
still seems likely he will win it
Not really. A lot of voters say that Wallace had an off year and that they are voting for Bowen.
yet wallace has most of the votes in this so far...ben wallace hasn't had an off-year he struggled at the start but he has played amazing basketball. pistons have the best record so he is likely the favourite.
oh come on, if we're just goin based on stats then he cant deserve to be higher than 3rd all nba. his PF really brought him down.
yeah i think bowen's image hurts him too much with all the complaining players do about him. such a shame too cuz he REALLY deserves the award
Has the most votes so far in what? No votes have been counted yet.
This was an informal poll of 20 something writers. It doesn't even say if those writers have votes.
Amuse - we all know that the jurnalists love stats, but many of them are not looking at the stats.
And it won't fit (3rd team) in Timmy resume
hehe
Good morning you all
Jesus just won with a death
Who complained about him this year except for Ray Allen?
I think Kobe saying Bowen is the best defender in the game outweighs Ray Allen's complaining.
It will still be a tight vote between Bowen and BWallace though.
I'm giving the money on Bowen.
Now way he won't get it, no way
Actually, November was his best month. It's been downhill since then.
that's true, but every writer is aware of his "image" so i just hope they can see past that. and yeah it seemed to me too that BW was havin an off year but i guess the pistons w-l record may overshadow that
Most national writers I know laugh at Ray Allen complaining about it and side with Bowen.
We'll see what happens.
oh good i really hope they can see past that cuz Bowen is what 33, 34? to do what he's doin on the perimeter at that age is amazing.
Shhh ... he's almost 35 (2 more months). But let's just pretend he's younger. I don't want to think about him getting older and retiring.
we're in trouble when that happens.
bowen not winnin the award, has sum todo with gay ray.
the year 2004 when ben and artest were out, that didnt stop ben from winnin it, even though he was the one that tried to strangle hold artest, and artest runnin into the stands. pretty much inconsistency with the voting though.
Absolutely by Ben Wallace
i think bowen bein selected for olympic tryouts will bode well for him too
i think duncan should win it, his been robbed for many years since his been in the league, he should be awarded one.
I don't think anyone cares about Gay Allen's whining. The thing I'm more worried about is all the dip writers who don't put any thought into it and just 'vote with reputation' and mindlessly check the box next to Ben's name.yeah i think bowen's image hurts him too much with all the complaining players do about him. such a shame too cuz he REALLY deserves the award
What would Bryant do if he had a vote?
"I'd vote for myself," he said.![]()
