If the Hornets win at LA tonight, the Spurs get the Lakers this weekend instead of the Kings.

    Advantages with playing Lakers:

    1. Lakers are not a hot team right now, the Kings are(11wins in last 13 games including a stomping of our Spurs)

    2. The Spurs will get more national attention playing in the LA circus-like atmosphere, and will probably start on Sunday, giving the Spurs one more day of rest.

    3. Manu and Finley will not have Artest in their shorts the whole game.

    4. TD will have it much easier scoring and rebounding against LA's Mihm and Brown, rather than the Kings' Thomas and Miller.

    5. Arco is a wild atmosphere and the Kings rarely lose there.

    Disadvantages:

    1. Bruce will get more worn out and will be more tired in Dallas series because he would have had to guard Kobe for 40 mins a game.

    2. Phil Jackson is a dangerous coach in the playoffs, and will have his charges well prepared to play.

    3. The Lakers Girls distract the players.

    4. The Spurs have been the Lakers' es in the playoffs, losing 7 playoff series to them in their history.

Hey, if we're worried about beating either LAL or Sacto, then we have no business thinking about a championship. Bring 'em on.

    Who's worried?

The best way to win a championship is to win each series with the least amt of energy expended, especially this year, when Dallas who is the 2nd best team, a team that you usually do not have to play until the conference finals, is waiting. If Dallas sweeps, which they very well could, then it behooves the Spurs to win in 4 or 5 games. This poses the question, who can the Spurs dispatch in 4 or 5 games the easiest?

    Get the point now???

^No way Dallas sweeps the Grizz. Am I the only one who thinks the Grizz could make it a tough series for the Mavs?

No one is worried, it's just one team is easier than the other. Seriously who really thinks Sacramento is going to beat the Spurs 4 out of 7 games? It won't be easy though beating them in 4 or 5 games... this series might get dragged out a bit... or probably not.. who knows.

Am I the only one to find that Kings are a better matchup than Lakers ?
Kings have nobody to stop Duncan and Odom can be a nightmare for us.

    Go Lakers.

Not really. Sometimes a tough 1st,2nd round series makes the team better and helps in the championship run. For example the tough series vs Nuggets/Sonics are what put us over the top of the Pistons. IMO

And it took 7 games to beat the Pistons and a miracle shot by Horry in game 5 to even have a chance to win the series.
The Spurs were beat up and tired in that Finals.

Look at 99, they had an easy series almost every round so they were dominant and rested in the Finals.

I want to win first series in 4 or 5.

    What?
Spusr easily handeled the Suns and that was not a hard and tough series. So have no right to be tired. After Sonics yes but after the suns?

The lakers have no chance of stealing more than 1 game from the spurs. So I hope the lakers can finish 8th.

I would rather play the lakers, just for the fact that Kobe might put up some of the best individual numbers in playoff history in their first round exit and I would like to see a few of the games in person.
