That's not a bad idea... I think i'll follow your lead. I can still eat green grapes though, right???
I have decided that, similar to lent, I need to give up or do something for the playoffs.
Aside from the pre-requisite flying of flags from my car and saying 10 Go Spurs's every night before bed, I will give up eating food in the color of the opposing team.
Kings are purple/blue, meaning no grapes, blueberries (I love those things), grape soda...and, uh, I think that's about it. Also, I will refuse to speak of any player in the Kings' starting lineup without directly following it with a remark about their sexual orientation.
I am sure y'all can think of something better.
Hey, it can't hurt!

What happens if the Spurs play Dallas in the next round?
There's a lot of foods that are green.
yeah healthy ones that taste sucky![]()
I'll go ahead and give up sex. Sorry ladies. I am now officially closed till after the Playoffs!
I wonder if this giving something up thing is retroactive? If so, I've been participating since late November '05...

Uhmmmm..... I think you have to give it up voluntarily for it to count.![]()

I shall give up SLEEP
since the road games are on the West Coast, this should be easy to achieve!!!
My job.
I'm giving up temperance for the playoffs. I went fully sober for lent so I feel prepped to pickle my liver with Jameson, Tanqueray, Bitburger, Fat Tire, and all other sweet nectars for the postseason.
I gave up the shirt off my back!
Funny thread Samr
How about we give up losing for the play offs?![]()
I like to listen to some playoffs games on WOAI radio. It's like old school. But they call a good radio game it's entertaining.
Also, some traditions will be brought back on my behalf:
- I have Spurs flags for my truck. Four of them. Spurs win, one flag goes up. Spurs lose, take one flag down. Ideally, I drive in the Texas heat without being able to roll my windows down. It is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
- Whataburger. Every game. Bacon cheeseburger, large onion rings, large coke. If I am at the game, I go to the same register (she is NOT hot; rule that one out). $13 exactly. If I am at home, same deal, only it doesn't require a loan from the bank.
- Tshirt. I have a brown tshirt that says "For good luck pet my monkey" and it has a picture of a monkey on it with a bit of a different implication. It is funny. It is also lucky. I wear this tshirt wherever I am, whenever the game is going on. It has lead to inappropriate displays in restaurants in the past. I do not care.
- Jersey. Manu Ginobili jersey worn for games I deem "crucial." These games include but are not limited to: elimination scenarios, away games, Laker games
- Newspaper. After a win, I read every article in the paper about the Spurs. I celebrate and rejoice and in general act like a raging with a celebratory inclination. I do not care. After a loss, I do not so much as look at the paper. Discussion about the game is inappropriate and an offense punishable by physical confrontation. If I do not hear about the loss, the loss does not exist.
- Nestea Green Tea. This is delicious. I am plugging it here.
Can't have that during the Dallas series- assuming they are whom we face.![]()
Personally, I'd like to see our avatars give up the bras. You've gone this far girls. Do it for the team.
I won't be eating untill after the game on every gameday. We all did it by accident yesterday but look how it turned out! Can't screw with the karma.
I like that too. The only problem with it is the stupid Corn Syrup sweetner.- Nestea Green Tea. This is delicious. I am plugging it here.
I want BEEPING sugar! And I don't care if it rots my teeth or whatever..
At Wal Mart they sell the Mexican made Sugar cokes (tastes much better).
I have a perfect one ready for the Finals.![]()
I'm giving up my girlish figure and ability to walk like a normal person.(baby due in July)
Your giving up hand jobs....![]()
