Anyone who has listen to sports radio in San Antonio knows who Jason Thompson is. Him and his brother Rob sometimes fill in for JT the brick also on Fox radio, This man said last season that Avery Johnson was not, and never will be head coach material. And that he will always be an asst. coach. Then AJ got the head coaching spot and Jason Thompson still said he still thinks AJ is not head coaching material, Then after the Mavericks found themselves 0-2 to the Rockets he came on the San Antonio Spurs radio saying how he was right that Avery Johnson was not only NBA coaching material, But the Dallas Mavericks will never make it to the 2nd round with him as head coach. Then the Mavericks came back from 0-2 to win the series, Jason Thompson would not say on the radio he may have made a mistake about Avery Johnson.
Then when the Dallas Mavericks did not make it to the finals? he was back on the air saying Avery Johnson will never be NBA coaching material. I wonder with only a few hours away from the NBA naming Avery Johnson NBA's coach of the year, if Jason Thompson will maybe this time give credit where credit is due?
Well since this is a city that won't admit Bruce Bowen is a dirty player, and that Manu is a flopper? I don't think we will hear any props for AJ comming from Jason Thompson. I just hope many of you at SpursTalk have enough class to give props to a great coach and an Ex Spurs player Avery Johnson.

I think Avery's a great coach, just because he coaches one of our chief rivals doesn't mean I have to hold any animosity towards him. With that being said, I think it's obvious when I say that I don't think he can outcoach coach Pop and that as long as we have funky brackets like this, he may not see the WCF for a bit. The problem I see for them is that either at the end of this year or the end of next year ( I think they hold his option) they're going to have to pay up for Josh Howard, who is still on his rookie contract...I think that Stack and KVH will be gone so that might help with signing him, but they are so much over the cap right now I'm not sure.

I went to highschool with Jason and played on the freshman basketball team with him. Just thought I would add this.. by the way I am very happy for AJ he is, and always will be, a Spur for life.
