Do you as a fan of San Antonio have a new respect for the Kings? Or maybe you respected them already?

I'll be honest, I played them off. Predicted a 4-1 rout... and never expected them to step up and us play unlike ourselves in some games.

    and...

Say we close out the Kings in Game 6, or Game 7 if it comes to that. What are your thoughts on Dallas in the 2nd round? I'm extremely hungover right now and can't remember exactly, but in the past the Spurs had too much rest and came out real sluggish.

Are the Spurs in the Mavs heads mentally? Or has Avery and the newer Mavs squad have nothing to do with that? Do you think they will be too rested or do you think the Spurs will be tired after the Kings series if we make it out?

At this point it's hard for me to understand what is going on it Pop's head. The lineups he has on the floor.... Artest just owning Finley over and over.. I really don't get it. As physical as we had to play to beat the Pistons last year you'd think we would be rolling with the punches a lot better now.

I think us as fans have a higher level of what we expect from our team. I don't know the statistics but we have to be one of the most respected and winningest franchises in all of professional sports. So of course we expect more and more. But we as SA fans know the taste of defeat and many years of under-achieving as well.

Obviously anything short of a repeat is a failure, and probably a huge failure. I have a feeling regardless of what happens this off-season will be big for San Antonio. Nazi leaving or staying? Finley and NVE retiring or coming back to us? Horry could even call it quits if we repeat. Duncans health? Barry being traded? Beno earning consistant playing time next year? More questions than ever will be surrounding our franchise. And all good things really do come to an end at some point in time. Not to mention the status of Scola and Ian and them being in Spurs uniforms soon.

At this point I might be rambling my thoughts on a soap box but as I type I feel stronger and stronger in my already strong faith in this team and it's future. True champions always find a way to win. And I believe now as much as I did going into game 7 against the Pistons.

jesus, you have a lot on your mind. Dont worry about the mavs, they will choke as always in crunch time. besides, your team uses like a 9 man rotation and has all year so I don't think it makes much of a difference if it goes 7 cause fatigue wont be a factor.

after we dispatch of raja "the " bell and little stevie in 6 and then put the clipps back in their place as the es of la we will see you in the finals. just like old times, eh...

While the Spurs are winning the series, I honestly thought they'd have beaten the Kings 4-1 already (if it weren't for Manu's mental mistake, they may have). I think Sacto may take Game #6, but history is on the side of the Spurs. Either way, it will be a dogfight decided by <5 points, IMHO.

As far as Dallas is concerned, IF we make it out of this series (which I believe we will), I think it will be a somewhat similar series. I don't see it going under 6 games, either.

    Welcome to the boards.

And Spurs fans always have a lot on their mind... buhleeeee dat..

And you can't assume in the playoffs. "The Mavs will choke." You just can't. It's a new season and anything can happen.

And this is not a thread about the Lakers. Or even if Dallas chokes, stay on topic or talk about how the Clips will own the Lakers in NBA Discussion part of the forums.

You are the winningest franchise in professional sports since 1997.

    But overall, not even close.

All i can say artest is a player to respect. I am not really sure if kings could have faced this series without artest. He is the player key of this series and not Wells. Adelman already knew that if they would want to beat spurs they needed to play defense and artest was the man to do that.

They must have gotten lucky the whole season than too right?

The Lakers will lose 4-1 if they face the Clippers. The Clippers, unlike the Suns, actually play defense and rebound. Kobe will go back to his one man show days and your team will fail.

I live here in LA dip . I went to about 15 Clipps games this year, including the LA/LA game. You are in for a rude awakening. I really do hope you beat the Suns just so I can see you pull a disappearing act after your royal ass kicking.

No problem. For example, if you break it down by championships in relation to the # of teams, New York has '5', Boston almost '6', Montreal almost '13', etc. San Antonio with '2' is respectable in that regards - especially, since it isn't considered a large market city like the others.

I don't like this list. It has the Lions down for no Championships, and while it is true that they have never played in a Super Bowl, the Lions as members of the NFL won Championships in 1952, 1953, and 1957. Hall-of-Fame quarterback Bobby Layne is perhaps the best-known face from the franchise. They also won a le in 1935. That's 4 NFL les. The Lions futility began when William Clay Ford bought the franchise in 1964. Since that time, they have one division le and one playoff win.

New York's number is skewed because of the number of teams. The Yankees have 20 something les I believe.
