so... lakers clippers is it...
Local station just broke it.. He's suspended for gm6. Not really much of a surprise.
But one of Kobe's fouls will be upgraded to a flagrant 1, according to the station.
so... lakers clippers is it...
So if it is a Clips/Flakers matchup will the crowd chant "BEAT LA, BEAT LA!"??
This is not good for the Lakers. bell was actually helping the Lakers move the ball, by keeping it from the ballhog.
Kobe gonna get 65 but Lakers lose
yeah baby!! I hope the Suns get murdered just so that Bell doesn't play another playoff game!
Right....whatever helps you sleep at night I guess. And I love it how a Suns fan admits defeat already.
Bell is an idiot.
This might cause the Lakers to come out a little less aggressively than they would otherwise. A little like the Spurs in game 2 of their series. I could see this not hurting the Suns all that much.
Suns are done. Nash isn't Jordan... and Nash now has virtually no help. Marion and Diaw are role players who wont step it up enough to win. I am actually looking forward to a Clips and Lakers series. Don't know who will win that one, but i'd probably give the edge to the Clips.
Gots to have a vBookie on Kobe's points.
Raja half-assed it.
If he didn't want to get suspended, he shoulda held his left arm straight out horizontally.
If he wanted to be suspended, shoulda added a throwdown to his clothesline.
Uhm. I haven't heard or seen an announcement yet on all the major sports outlets (ESPN, CNNsi, etc.) - are you sure?
Poor Kobe the victim can sleep better at night.
Great avatar -
"Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give me your best shot. I can take it."
"When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, looks you crooked in the eye and asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
"All I know is that this Lo Pan character comes out of thin air in the middle of a goddamn alley while his buddies are flying around on wires cutting everybody to shreds while he just STANDS there waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him with LIGHT coming out of his mouth!"
Damn, I love that movie. Classic.
The Lakers/Suns series has been Stern'd.
There wasn't any way Bell was not going to draw a suspension for that. Still, I'm a fan now.
hmm, interesting
the battle of LA
i guess they are all home gamesthe same stadium cheering for both teams every game. will be odd.
Bell is dumb...did he think he would get away with it?
Posey was suspended and what Bell did was worse.
No one to blame but himself.
Plus, now hopefully I can sell my Lakers/Clips playoff tix for $$$.
Bell suspended one game for takedown of Bryant
The Phoenix Suns forced a Game 6 with the Lakers, but Raja Bell won't be on the court for them in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Bell was suspended for throwing Kobe Bryant to the floor in Tuesday night's game. He was hit with his second technical foul with 7:33 left in the game for the takedown and was ejected.
The Arizona Republic reported that Suns executive Jerry Colangelo called Stu Jackson as soon as the game ended to get a dialogue started with the NBA's top disciplinarian.
"We don't believe this was an isolated incident or play," Colangelo told the newspaper. "There were a number of things that led up to that flagrant foul. Things that have happened the whole series. A lot of elbows. It's been a very physical matchup between Raja and Kobe. I think Raja was pretty explicit. He lost his head. He overreacted, but a lot of things led to it."
Bell and Bryant also had been called for a double-technical in the second quarter.
"It's been a pretty physical series, and at that point in time I had caught another elbow in the jaw and I lost my head and overreacted to it," Bell said. "It could have cost my team and for that I'm sorry."
After Bell threw Bryant down, he pointed to the Lakers' bench and yelled, "That's your foul."
"It's a physical game," Bryant said. "I'm not trying to go out there and elbow somebody, that's not the way I play. If you get elbowed, you still have to keep your cool. I get elbowed all the time."
Steve Nash said Bell's foul was no worse than some the Lakers committed earlier in the series, so he didn't believe a suspension was warranted.
"They're going to single one out because it's on Kobe? To me that's a shame," Nash said.
"There were a couple of elbows thrown," The Suns' Boris Diaw said. "I saw Raja on the floor twice before he got ejected. Raja got hit many times. It probably was frustration."

did they give the mvp award to nash
if not they might have to wait tell next year!
Bell should have been suspended just for the sheer stupidity of it.
It was CLEARLY pre-meditated. It was CLEARLY flagrant. Raja is the only player on the Suns who has even a prayer of guarding Kobe. And Phoenix had the game essentially clinched, and the Lakers were completely docile. What exactly did he think he was going to accomplish?
The more you think about it, it might have been the single most stupid play of the year.
