    Fellow Spursies,

    Was not able to tape. On Gnobs great backpocket steal of Dirk and fullcourt drive. Howard (i think) ran him down. Did Howard hack Gnob or did Manu just bobble the ball on the way up?

    Props again to Spurs for the game. Eat crap Stern.
    The final D by Bruce and Gnob.

    I think he bobbled it slightly.

    The obvious no call was Dirk's push into Manu's back to open up for that jumper, wich he promptly bricked.

    Fabbs = Wolves009?

    Nobody else refers to the Spurs fans and the Spurs as Spursies.

    Manu not only wasn't fouled, he wasn't even touched. But in true form, he still ed to the refs.

    Watch the replay on the Dirk "push" - Manu over-acted and fell down. He was barely touched.

    He paused on that play to draw an 'and1'. He needed to take a strong and finish. The strip was clean.

    barely pushed still equals a foul.

    Bull . If that were so, half of the Spurs would have been in foul trouble today.

    he slowed down to draw a foul, when he should have dunked it to excite the crowd. that would have been the nail in the coffin...good thing he had the big stop

    Manu needs to shake that foul-drawing mentality, and just finish those ing plays. He's gotten spoiled with the contact fouls....

    He's established himself as being great at creating contact...but he relies on that history too much..Get back to finishing at the rim. What a spoiled little

    And the Mavs would have run out of players to play because they would all probably foul out.

    A push in the back to clear out is a foul genius read the rule book.

    I agree, he should have dunked that ...if he had, he probably would have drawn the foul. Oh well, his defense was awesome...dunk that next time!

    He wasn't fouled by Howard, but I do think Dirk nudged his left elbow a little just when he was shooting. You can see Manu wince when it happens if you look at the tape. It was a sneaky veteran foul by Dirk, and if the ref was on the other side of the floor, he would have seen it. But yeah, Manu should have just gone to the hole aggressively. Maybe he just couldn't. He didn't look like he had any explosion the whole game, and I think he took a knee to the thigh in the 3rd quarter, and he was even slower after that.

    Just to answer the question, the replay from under the basket shows Howard catching Ginobili's elbow with his hip as he flew by, which is why Manu bobbled the ball. This is not an opinion, it is absolutely obvious from that camera angle.

    That said, if it was not called, it was not a foul. Period.

    If it were the case, Dirk would be complaining to officials even more than he does.

    Say what you will about Ginobili as a flopper, but Dirk undertakes the Triple Lindy everytime he makes a move or contests a rebound.

    I thought it was Howard's knee that hit Manu's right elbow but you are absolutely correct that it's what caused him to bobble the ball. I didn't see it the first time but I couldn't believe Manu would miss that shot if he wasn't touched so I watched again in slow motion from the baseline camera and it was obvious what happened.

    I'm very happy we won the game because that play could have very well cost us.

    Thanks Obstructed_view and grjr.
    Yeah i didn't think GNob would get cutsie in that situation. I hear all you others asking him to jam/go up hard more but that one was a foul. If he would have just went up strong he risked Josh Howard going Juan Howard-D.A. on him. I'm glad Manu went up protected. Sounds like no hip to elbow from Howard and GNob plops down two for sure.

    Fabbs = Wolves009?
    Not a chance. I usually use "Spurseses" but this time just used "Spursies".

    I'll go back and look. Howard was in the air so the knee makes more sense now that you mention it.

    Manu didn't have a lot of lift today. I thought he was going to blow that basket whether he was fouled or not.

    Hopefully he's sleeping right now and gets rested up for Tuesday.

    I thought the same thing. I was just hoping he wouldn't be the third guy to the rim.

    Manu was trying hard but was playing pretty bad late in the fourth. That foul on Dampier was single-digit basketball IQ worthy.

    Just to play devil's advocate, fouling a 50 percent free throw shooter at that point with a three point lead isn't the worst idea ever. It obviously wasn't intentional, but strategically it's better than allowing Terry or Dirk to get a shot within the offense and it allows you to burn another 24 seconds before they get another possession.
