I Hope Rose
with manu starting who will provide that fire off the bench?
1. Barry
2. Rose
3. Brown
Manu. Pop will put him back when he sees the Spurs are lacking energy![]()
I worry about that two. Aside from Barry, everyone else is at least partially a question mark.
Will Beno actually pan out? Will Rose get out of the pophouse? Will Horry have anything left in the tank? Will Brown continue to improve and will he learn when to shoot the ball and when to pass? Will LJ have enough offense to stay in the lineup?
Those are all unknowns. Beyond Barry, very little is certain.
Barry will provide energy. Rose, Brown, LJ, and Beno are other good candidates.
The pieces for a very good bench are there.
I wonder how much Tp will improve, and if Manu can cut down on his turnovers, and make open shots and cheap layup shots that he misses when he shouldn't be.
The 1 (one) player on the bench in his prime years has his ass cemented in Pop's doghouse. Barry is still effective, but he's beginning to get older. Throw him into the "in his prime" mix if you wish.
The rest of the bench consists of declining veterans or largely unproven young players. There are some good pieces and the potential is there, but will it come together as we hope? I'm not certain either way.
I think Devin will be big and the energy off the bench.
Well its ok, you can't always have a bench with players in their 'primes'.
Barry is an efficient kind of player cause of his shooting and passing ability. He should do reasonable in limited minutes.
I just don't get how Rose can go from 10ppg and solid offense and energy to being benched entirely. He has the potential, just let him play it out and see what happens. Spurs could use his offense and energy.
he isnt pop materia, he doesn't do the little things anymore because he is trying to earn a ridiculous contract
Sean Marks will give you loads of energy off the bench !!
GO SPURS
GO SEAN
Tony Parker and Devin Brown

[QUOTE-nzkickass]Sean Marks will give you loads of energy off the bench !![/QUOTE]
I believe that. If he gets some minutes I think he will hustle non stop, he will give lots of energy. I don't know if he has the talent to make the most of that energy though
I like him. I hope he gets a chance this season, because I feel he can be a decent NBA backup. I'm excited about what he might do.
Definitely Devin Brown. He exploded off the bench last year, I don't believe he will slack this season at all.
I also think Brown can help fill Manu's role from last year. He should be the guy to watch. Barry should be solid but I don't really see him as an "energy" guy more than a facilitator. I really hope Malik or Marks can become what Malik used to be a few years ago.
I see Barry and Brown as being the energy off the bench. Rose will fill in nicely in a 3 man rotation with Tim and Rasho, like he usually does when he is getting minutes. But the energy will come from Barry and Brown, who will be 6 and 7 in minutes, respectively.
Hopefully Malik.
(Forget all you haters) Get a grip Spurs fans.
[Intro:]
Yeah, this song is dedicated to all the coaches that told me
I'd never amount to nothin', to all the coaches that benched me
for hustlin', diving on the ground and getting in players faces
when I was just tryin' to get some rebounds to feed my family,
and all the posters that got my back, you know what I'm sayin'?
Uh-ha, it's all good baby bay-bee, uh
[Verse One:]
It was all a dream
I used to read Sports Illustrated magazine
Wilt Chamberlain and Dr. J up in the limousine
Hangin' pictures on my wall
Every Saturday, hooping up usin' a milk crate and a ball
I let my dunks drop til the tree popped
Playing D and grabbin' boards, then going up for the block
Way back, when I had the build of an ol' lumberjack
With the gut to match
Remember Drexel Dragons, ha-ha, ha-ha
You never thought that Malik Rose would make it this far
Now I'm in the doghouse like a cheating spouse
But now its time to get action, to get exposed like Janet Jackson
I was born to be a sinner, the opposite of a winner
Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner
Peace to AJ, JJ, and Sean
Danny Ferry and David Robinson
I'm blowin' up like you thought I would
Call the crib, same number same hood
It's all good
Uh, and if you don't know, now you know, poster, uh
[Chorus:]
You know very well who you are
Don't let Pop hold you down, reach for the stars
You have won two, but thats not too many
'cause you have to carry the torch and win plenty
[Verse Two:]
I will make the change from the 12th man on the squad
To up close and personal with Ahmad Rashad
But don't applaud, I bruise you up while I play all day
Set hard picks, it's the Philly way
The double-doubles keep my busy
Coaches used to diss me
Now they write letters 'cause they miss me
I never thought it could happen, this hoopin' stuff
I was too used to packin' gats and stuff
Now coaches play me close like butter played toast
From Jail Blazers down to the east coast
I hit buzzer beaters, named player of the weeks
Sold out seats to watch a player named Malik
Playin' ball without no fear
Puttin' 5 karats in my mama's ears
Lunches, brunches, interviews by the ocean
Considered a distraction because I play with emotion
Stereotypes of a black male misunderstood
And it's still all good
Uh...and if you don't know, now you know, poster
[Chorus:]
You know very well who you are
Don't let Pop hold you down, reach for the stars
You have won two, but thats not too many
'cause you have to carry the torch and win plenty
[Verse Three:]
From my fifth championship ring all the way back to genesis
When I was a rookie, man I couldn't picture this
40 inch vertical, until i'm layin' on the sofa
I drive the lane hard, so I got a limousine with a chauffeur
Fans cry that my contract fills the cap
No need to worry, my play is worth that
Getting standing O's, no time to sit
Celebratin' every year, no more first round exits
Thinkin' back to when I first guarded Shaq
Till my jersey went to the rafters with 31 on its back
And I'll love to show my rings off, of course
Smiles every time I see my bobbleheads in the stores
But I'll always remember when Pop dissed me
Trying to trade, Lord knows he'd miss me
Chris Mills, Howard Eisley and Kurt Thomas?
I'll make him look like a fool for talking, thats a promise
Uh, damn right Pop likes the stats I give
'Cause I went from negative to positive
And it's all...
(It's all good)![]()
Don't forget Horry can bring his bag of tricks in. He should be fresher for the playoffs if with the extra bigs they have now.
when it's all said and done....bruce, tony, and malik.
