I've had a great day ... I worked in the yard for most of it, hauled off a bunch of construction crap, am doing laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and now I'm about to make dinner...while my son just started being an ass.

It started off pretty amazing, anyway.

Hopefully you'll enjoy it more when you have your own kids ... I know it helps a little for me. That, and keeping really, really busy with some heavy-duty physical work. But keep your chin up ... I know all too well how difficult that day can be, so you aren't alone.

Okay moms; we spent the day at my in-law's house. My husband and father-in-law took a nap, and my MIL and I took care of the kids. Tell me that's not typical. Happy late Mother's Day!

I'm glad to know I'm not the only Mom whose child was being ungrateful on Mother's Day. We got early and went to breakfast at IHop then my husband gave me a card. My daughter looked over and said "I'm a bad daughter, I didn't get you anything, Oh well". This was after many, many reminders from my husband and offers to drive to the store and me telling her that she didn't need to buy me anything I would be perfectly happy with a poem or a note written by her. She thought her mea culpa at 8:30am was enough to get off the hook scott free. My husband lit into her. Told her she had the rest of the day to make it right. She promised to go home and write me a note. She did spend some time with me later but never did write me the note. I told her to remember that when her birthday came around.
