And you are right, nothing is worse than off brand cereal. I feel sorry for the kids that get the cereal that doesn't even come in a box .. just those big bags and has names close to the real brands.

I don't know about that, Malt O Meal while not doing a perfect rip off, does an ok job of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and a real good job of frosted mini wheats.

I always find the MaltOMeal mini wheats to be kinda dry and with not enough of the frosting. The Cinnamon Toast is just ok. But you can tell the difference when you put it next to the real thing.

Now, there's one cereal that I've found many local brands screwing up consistently - Fruit Loops. They're never really fruity and often come off with some weird Robitussin/medicinal taste.

Never skimp on real Fruit Loops. NEVER.

The meat there is actually pretty good, especially the lean. Can't believe I forgot toilet paper, that 1000 sheet roll is like cleaning your ass with crumbly sandpaper.
