Nissan will cost more for parts. I would suggest RX8...
seem to be pretty similar i guess in overall specs. the wrx is quicker to 60 though i dont know by how much. right now i have a 350z but the damn thing is a maint hog and im getting tired of it. looking to get something a little cheaper as well and was thinking an 04 model for either of these two cars. i like the styling of the wrx better but dont know much about eiither on other than looking at specs on paper. are there any particular gremlins that haunt either model or specific year? any horror stories about maint issues. seems like they would both be pretty easy to make fast and make up the .5 sec diff my current car has over these.
only other option, other than keeping my z, is getting a single cab truck. before i never really wanted one bc of space issues, but after a z a single cab truck seems cavernous.

and i dont really like the stylin of the srt4, cars will be around an 03-04
and vash i currently own the nissan and am not looking for another one, trust me ive been scarred from them now. and ive driven the rx8, wasnt impressed especially considering the price diff between that and a wrx/srt4
edit:^not to mention the ease of tuning on a turbo car
