I've never seen a time ever where every spurs fan was in agreement as to why the team lost.

Yeah, a lack of D as a result of the tiest officiating ever seen.

I think it was lack of D and Pop's insistence on leaving TD as the solo shotblocker. And people wonder how he is getting all these fouls called against him? He has to do something or the Mavs will have a layup drill. The Spurs and Bowen are great defenders in part because he funnels players toward shotblockers. Note the "s" on the end of it. Funneling guys to a solo Timmy only means foul trouble or layups. Small ball is hurting SA in more ways than one.

It's about damn time. It's so obvious.
I'd say maybe 99% are in agreement.

    Refs suck!!

Everyone can about the refs, complain about missed freethrows, and all that. But bottom line is that the Spurs can't get a stop.

Their defense is horrible right now. The mini-me lineup can't stop anyone. They switch on the pickandrolls and Duncan gets caught guarding Harris and Tony gets left on Dirk. The defense just escorts the Mavs down the lane.

I can't really blame Pop THAT much because the centers suck, but damnit the defense sucks with no bigs in the lineup (outside Tim).
But yeah, the refs missed some calls too

Spurs lose because you aren't allowed to guard free throw shooters.

Bad officiating made our vaunted defense tentative and indecisive in executing their plays. Thus, the result is the lack of effective D.

you're right, but with all that being said. Without bad officiating the spurs still win.

Continuing a trend in these playoffs, 11 fewer posessions.

sometimes basketball games come down to a few plays. On those plays spurs got called for fouls.

Blame the refs all you want, but if the Spurs had played Spurs D it wouldn't have even been close.

Well how about just playing good D like the Spurs normally do, so that a few calls don't matter?

bad refs is part of sports. gotta play thru it. we couldnt
I agree 100% and have thought that way since I've been on this board. However, the past two games in the 4th qrt the officiating has been blatantly one sided. I can't ignore how bad it was for the first time in my life.

It's hard to play tough D when our best Perimeter defenders are forced to watch the end of the game from the bench because they are fouled out.

Spurs have to outscore them like they did phoenix. When you have evenly matched teams the margin of error is small. spurs aren't dominate enough to overcome the horrible officiating. Refs call a charge on dirk when Tim played great D, and the game is over.

No it's hard to play tough D when you are playing the smallest lineup known to man and to make it worse you are switching.

: Can't rely on coming out on top with close games anymore. We're due to blow the Mavs out and that comes from our Defense. A lot of their shots were contested and still fell, especially that OT dagger at the end...Horry's right, Luck does win you playoff games. Spurs need to forget about the unfair refs, accept their cheap calls, and keep playing through.
