country
and I like a little pop, soft rock some oldies on occassion
mostly from country singers that sign both
I can not stand rap if I can not hear the words
Just curious, but what kind of music do you all like, and what do you typically listen to?
Personally I like pretty much everything, except I don't really listen to country -- although I don't really know much of it anyway.
But as of now I probably listen to rap a little more than anything else at the moment.
How about you?![]()

I like all kinds of music...but the one I listen to the least would be country...and rap.
Maybe because to me in country and rap there are groups that don't do anything new...especially in country. There's no Rubber Souls, or Pet Sounds albums in country.
But I'd wager that out of all the genres of music...I listen to country the least...because there are no artists in country that actually do anything for me.
I also like the modern country alot more then then the old country
the old country is slow and boring
Rock, Alternative and a little bit of top 40.
Classic rock like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Boston is probably my favorite. I also listen to a lot of jazz. I'm partial to trombone players like Curtis Fuller, JJ, etc.
I enjoy listening to some 90's alternative too. Nirvana and stuff like that. 311 is my favorite band of all time. I enjoy the Urge, Mark Mallman, and some others.
I like classic country, too. Cash, Haggard, Cline, any of that stuff.
As for classical, I like German Leider and Baroque.
So I listen to a wide variety of things. I was a music major as an undergrad, and I gained an appreciation for all sorts of things.
Whatever sounds good to me.
Hip Hop. Run DMC are my favourite Hip Hop artists. Eminem, Dre, BIG, Jigga, NWA are some of my other favourites. New Hip Hop is a lot weaker, althought I do love Royce Da 5'9's recent efforts and Kanye West's debut is really good. Starting to get into some Mos Def, Talib Kweli and a few others lately. No Nelly, Chingy, Ja Rule, new Snoop and all that other that sounds the same, for me though.
90's altern rock etc..Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers are among my favourite bands ever. Like a lot of older rock and guitar -- The Eagles, AC/DC, Led Zep, Jimi, SRV amongst others. Green Day's latest album is magic, I can't get enough of it.
I don't really listen to Dance a lot, before I go out of when I go out being just about it unless something really catches me. Not a fan of Country music and most Pop music featuring people pretending to sing when all they are doing is whispering into the microphone..![]()
I listen to everything from 80's pop to Rock to hip-hop to country, you name it and I probably listen to it. My least favorite is Tejano though, just dont get it.
but my all time favorite group is in my sig
my favorite artist is bob dylan. typically, though, i listen classic rock like zeppelin.
Get off your duff, Duff.
What about Johnny Cash? Have you heard the latest from Loretta Lynn with Jack White? How about Neko Case? Ray Wylie Hubbard? Calvin Russell? Steve Earle? Lonesome Bob? Joe Ely? Wayne Han ? Toni Price? Nathan Hamilton? Hank Williams III? Robert Earl Keen? Dave Alvin? Charlie Robison? Cary Swinney? Jimmy Dale Gilmore?
I could go on and on.
Edited to add: Junior Brown can play guitar circles around your favorite Guns and Roses guitarist.
Your loss is your loss, not mine.

I heard one song and I liked what I heard...haven't heard the whole album though. I want to get it so I can hear what it's like.
I hope to hook myself up with a CD burner at work this week. If all goes according to plan, I'll hook you up with a few CDs (ASF too).
PM/Email me.
I used to like the Beatles...The Stones...Even The Dave Clark-5....Then I heard the Rutles...
Ouch don’t hurt me. Ouch don’t desert me...Ouch Ouch Ouch...
“I even saw “A Hard Days Rut”...I got sick in the theater...& I had to leave...Immediately thereafter I could never listen to British music again without throwing up...
I am getting better...But I will stick to Elvis...American Country Western or even Wayne Newton....
The Rutles...
He probably could...damn you act like I think Slash is the greatest guitar player ever...I just like him the most.
I like all kinds, 'cept rap...completely. Like Duff, I'm a big Beatles fan and listen to their CD's quite a lot. I also listen to some oldies bands from the 80's like Asia, etc. When writing and drawing, I listen to classical music, such as Beethoven, Mozart and Bach. It really puts you in a calm state of mind and really gets you going.
I dig Slash...”Obsession Confession”...The guy gets around...
Current country sucks total ASS.
Anything classic or most anything KJ plays during the "Texas Ten at Ten" or "The Other Side Of KJ" (Sunday night at 9pm) does it for me.
Just picked up Aaron Watson's Shut Up And Dance. "Off The Record" should be the next Nashville hijacking of a great Texas song, IMO...
Nowadays, mostly contemporary Christian music. I don't really care for much of the Top 40 stuff out nowadays, especially the likes of Britney Spears, Boy bands, etc.
Some of my older music I can't seem to bring myself to get rid of and still love: Adema, 311, Korn, Stone Temple Pilots, Pornos for Pyros, Lords of Acid, Fiona Apple, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Emilio Navaira, Eddie Gonzalez, La Tropa F... I could go on an on.. I also like Old school rap, but not much of the newer stuff...
Anyway, I pretty much like everything except for Country, can't really get into it.. sorry guys!
I'm a big Van Morrison fan, I like the wide selection you can find on KSYM, I just saw Dave Alvin and the Guilty Men on Sunday, Oct 3 at Casbeers. I just got the Bob Dylan book Chronicles and hope to finish it soon. I highly recommend to buy or rent the DVD or Video of the recently released movie "Festival Express" where you can find the likes of Janice Joplin, Jerry Gracia, The Band, The Flying Burrito Brothers, and many others. I was so moved by that film that I saw it 4 times at the theatre before it left . Music, Movies and Literature do it for me.
Currently making the rounds on Winamp and the CD player in the car:

Hot Club Of Cowtown-Continental Stomp

Diana Krall-Live In Paris
Deryl Dodd-Live At Billy Bob's
Mindy Smith-One Moment More
Agent Orange-Living In Darkness

Hey Queen Sophie, have you ever listened to KPIG out of California? I suspect you will like it very much . You too 1369. The website is www.kpig.com. They offer only a 2 week free-trial, BUT, I have found that I can listen to them free all the time when I search them out at www.shoutcast.com. KPIG serach will return 4 hits, be sure to select the "rock, blues and folk" link. FYI, the Shoutcast link for KPIG is not working right now (May be a PC problem). I can tune the station in through Real Player because it's already in my history list. If I can figure out how to extract the precise URL, I'll update this message.
