did he talk trash/ use dirty language or abuse anyone?...
Guys-
After watching postgame last night, I feel that something pressing (in some ways more pressing even than a 1-3 hole) in regards to our guys.
Although it has long been en vogue to rip the Spurs for their tedious style of play, the one thing we could always come back with was that the level of class of our players made us unique to the NBA.
Of course, its easy to have class when your winning...and adversity is no reason to abondon principal. I understand the man's frsutration, but Timmy's press conference last night for instance was disgraceful. It will be difficult for me to continue cheering for him after watching him dramatically storm off like a pouting teenager after taking only a few moments to address the media. Champions like TD are best served by graciousness even in defeat.
Like many have said, this series isn't over yet...
but lets hold on to the virtues that seperate our venerable franchise from the likes of the Portland Trailblazers.
did he talk trash/ use dirty language or abuse anyone?...
...cos i didn't see him do any of the above
No profanity, but this is the second consecutive press conference in which he has demonstrated a real lack of class. Moments of dedeat often define our charachter even more than triumph; Timmy is failing this test.
Frankly, I would have rather seen the raw emotion that comes from profanity rather than the childish whining that he has adapted. Also, I find his voice strange: he sounds like a dorky, middle aged white man. ...at least his play in this series has been strong.
Pussyface,
Where is your labiatar? I'd love to see it.
That's his voice, dude. It's not his fault. It's easy to feel like he must when getting gipped over like he has.
Fine Dunc...
but that and a hill of beans won't get you anywhere in the NBA playoffs. Its loser talk. Just ask the Dallas Mavericks, they've been spewing it for years.
What exactly did he say?
Tim knows his team got robbed. What the is he supposed to do? Congratulate the Mavs on a win the Spurs worked their asses of to get? I would've been pissed too. Timmy has the class not to go on a tirade and call the officials asswipes who needs to get their damn eyes checked. Nothing's wrong with him.
Tim's interview was as bad as the Rasheed's "Both teams played hard." interview.
I don't know if it was classless, but it was on the edge of something to get fined for.
He answered one question with "One play either way. One call either way. Whatever it may be, it came down to that." The next question with "No" and then got up and left.
The video is on this page.

I agree. When you consider what he could have said, and possibly what he SHOULD have said, this is something to be taken lightly.
Wow...Tim was PISSED. I really don't understand what his quote meant though.
"One play either way. One call either way. Whatever it may be, it came down to that."
Can someone explain that to me? I know it was about the foul calls, but I'm a little lost.
It boils down not only to class but also professionalism, a trait which he has been demonstrating to have about as much of as my 16 year old nephew. He is an unemployed "goth" who listens to Marilyn Manson and dropped out of high school.
Kori, glad to see there are other sensible Spurs fans in this vast ocean of conspiracy theorists and whiners. I'll continue to root for the Spurs, but I will not deny that Tim Duncan's greatness on the court is challenged by his total lack of likeability.
the press didn't have any other questions for him to answer so he got up & left to start his preparations for the mavericks & the referees in game 5.
Pussyface, when we will see the labiatar?
I don't understand what you're complaining about. Was what he said not true? He answered the second question, and since there were no more, he got up and left. Tim Duncan has always been a great guy and a very good sportsman so I don't see how you can say it'll be hard cheering for him when he was obviously extremely pissed off.
he is far more likeable than kobe bryant![]()
Duncan's certainly been a gentleman in victory. But as a Spurs fan I also care about being a gentleman in defeat...in my view he has not lived up to this at all. This brings out his other flaws, such as the whiny/ y nerdy white guy voice. I'm starting to hate this guy.
I actually think Tim is very likeable. I just think he could have answered the questions more professionally. Oh well, a pissed off Tim is probably a good thing for the Spurs.
Just the fact that you dislike him for having a "nerdy white guy voice" proves that you don't even have a point here. I've never seen Tim act like this before. Grow up dude.
I'm glad Duncan did that. I'm also glad that Bowen let Stern know how he felt about that call near the end of regulation. I think both handled themselves as well as they could given the cir stances.
Sorry man...I just prefer that my athletes be cool in some way.
Haven't you heard? The Spurs are boring. Maybe you should be watching the Cavs.
have you never seen a duncan postgame press conference before this series? it sounds like you have never heard duncan speak or even talk before after a game.
Duncan was not that bad. Bowen's actions were idiotic. I'm surprised there have beeen zero consequences. Stern is a double standard implementing pile of .
There's a line between being professional and being a pushover. Duncan was able to voice his displeasure without cursing and without being disrespectful. I watched one of the premiere "classy" guys in the NBA for about 10 of his 14 years in the league. It didn't mean Dumars didn't get upset or couldn't be forceful. It meant that he did it with class.
