lol I just took a look at the NBA's First and Second All-NBA teams and the 2nd team is so much better then the first, this is a joke. Who here thinks the 2nd team would beat the first team in a basketball game?

    1st team :

    Nash
    Bryant
    Lebron
    Nowitzki
    Shaq

    2nd team:

    Chauncey
    Wade
    Duncan
    Elton Brand
    Ben Wallace

I'd put my money on the second team any day of the week.

Actually they look pretty even to me, 2nd team could easily be a 1st team.

1st team : Nash, Bryant, Lebron, Nowitzki, Shaq
2nd team:Chauncey, Wade, Duncan, Elton Brand, Ben Wallace
    Let me see:

Nash and Bryant on the same team .. Nowtizki Shaq is gettind old... ok Lebron it the one to guard

2nd Team should win even in a playstation

The thing that tips the balance between the 1st and 2nd teams is obviously Tim Duncan. If he plays regular season ball... yeah 1st is better... but we all know that's not Tim Duncan.. or at least most of us.

1st team is basically all perimeter players and shaq.. while 2nd team is all interior players and chauncey (wade has a perimeter game... but he shines when he drives) so it depends if the offense of team 1 can sustain the d of team 2.

I don't see how you can say that

1st team would dominate the 2nd team

Replace Elton Brand with Paul Pierce or Shawn Marion, who are more natural small forwards and either could make a case for being a second teamer, and the second team is the better and more balanced team of the two. LeBron, again as crazy it is to say at his young age, is the difference in the two teams.

    Duncan, Wallace, Brand

    That's tough.

    Wade, Chauncey

    That's clutch.

I think the 2nd team has better overall players, but they don't have a SF. Brand would have to guard either Kobe or LeBron.

there are WAY too many miss matches.

    nash/billups
    kobe/wade
    lebron/brand
    nowitzki/duncan
    shaq/wallace

interior offense/defense would go to the second team but the first teams perimeter game would be insane. the only way the second team could win is if they can funnel the perimeter players to drive into duncan, wallace, and brand. all there are exceptional shot blockers.

Or maybe Ben Wallace would have to guard LeBron and prove his defensive prowess and range. But, it would take away his shot-blocking and rebounding. Fortunately, both Elton and Tim are great at those as well.

Lebron and Kobe on the same team could give you a 100 points right there.

That might be better, but then Brand would have to guard Dirk.

If they were playing a pickup game, they'd have to trade Ben for Kobe (or LeBron). Then the matchups would be

    Nash-Billups
    LeBron/Kobe-Wade
    Dirk-Kobe/LeBron
    Wallace-Brand
    Shaq-Duncan

    That would be tight.

Offensively perhaps... but you're not taking into account defense...1st team has 1 big stopper, and that is Kobe. I don't believe Shaq can be catergorized as a big defensive presence anymore.

2nd team plays better D, that's for sure. Wade is the weak link on D on the second team, and he plays better D than most of the first team, with the exception of Kobe.

1st team is better than 2nd team. 1st team have Steve Nash (ex-Mavs) who will give a lot of assist to Dirk, Kobe, Shaq, and Lebron.

Second team is better because they all play both sides of the ball, can block shots(cept Billups)and they create just as many matchup problems...

I think, to a man, the second team has the rebounding advantage...

    Nash - doesn't play D
Kobe - can play it good when he feels like it....doesn't feel lke it as often as he used too.
LeBron - really doesn't play D other than just using sheer talent.
    Dirk - Uh no.
    Shaq - No.

    Wallace guards LeBron
    Brand guards Dirk
    Duncan guards Shaq
    Chanucy guards Nash
    Wade gurds Kobe

    What I want to know...

    Does Nash guard Chauncey? Nope.
Does Kobe guard Wade? Ok I'll give that to Kobe...

Who does LeBron guard? Brand? Duncan? Wallace? Mismatch.

    That'd be ugly.
Who does Dirk guard? Wallce? Duncan? Brand? Mismatch.

Shaq? Duncan? He's the only one that can.

Whoever gets Wallace is going to have the easiest time of it...but you still have to worry about his rebounding.

There's only one mismatch on the first team...and that's LeBron...

There are two on the second team...whoever Nash is guarding and whoever Dirk is guarding.

1st team also is basically a group of guys who all want the ball and Nash...

2nd team is not all guys who want to have the ball...they are all guys who like to block shots, defend and rebound as much as have the ball.

There is going to be an A list shotblocker and rebounder in the paint at all times for the second team...and both of their guards are tough defensive guards.

The rebounding and shotblocking of the second team swing it to the second team IMO...Regardless of Lebron...whoever he is guarding is going to put up some big numbers too...whoever Nash or Dirk are guarding is going to get 30....

Are there supposed to be people who don't know that Steve Nash used to play for the Dallas Mavericks?

Sorry fi this has been posted, can't find the official thread so i'll stick it here.

Ducnan was asked if he was dissapointed for not making team 1 after last night's game. He said he was extremely dissapointed that Parker had not made any team, and that he did not deserve to be on the first team and every player there had played much better than him and deserved to be there.
    I in love that guy!
