I can't help but wonder why Mav fans are so re ed. A punch to the nuts is mandatory suspension. Get it?
I've been a big fan of the Daily Quickie for a few years now but this comment and yesterdays have completely made me think differently of it:
Terry Out
You can't help but wonder if this is the NBA's way of getting back at Mavs owner Mark Cuban for his years of complaining about the refs.
You can't help but wonder if the 2006 NBA champ will be determined by this decision.
You can't help but wonder if the NBA is nuts -- do Stern and Co. really want a Spurs-Pistons final, which would bring this exciting, unbelievable postseason to a sad, grinding halt (replaced by 82-77 games)?
You can't help but wonder if Jason Terry's "punch" in the vicinity of Michael Finley's jewels will cost the Mavericks their best shot at an NBA le.
You can't help but predict that the Spurs got their gift, will beat the Mavs in Dallas tonight (ESPN, 9:30 p.m. ET) and then win Game 7 in San Antonio.
And a postseason that was arguably headed to become one of the best ever will now need an asterisk.
* Mavs screwed.
I can't help but wonder why Mav fans are so re ed. A punch to the nuts is mandatory suspension. Get it?
No whining...
I still think the Mavs win tonight![]()
I would actually agree with this if it were true.
What's the fascination with asterisks?
Nobody made Jason Terry do what he did. It remains to be seen whether it has any effect on this series.
I just cant stand the blind eye everyone seems to be turning towards how much we've been ed this series, but as soon as something goes against the Mavs, lets write about it every chance we get and make it a point to call the league out on it.
So it's an NBA conspiracy to lower Finals ratings. Got it.
By the rules, even a punch that doesn't connect is mandatory suspension. This is such a non-argument.
Probably mentioned before, but I guarantee you if the tables were turned and Finley "punched" Terry, Cuban would have been the first person to send the tape/video to Stu.
All year long he's complained about the officiating. Be careful of what you wish for.
Excuses, excuses. This is what happens when players without a championship mentality try to win. In the moment of truth Terry deviated from being a winner to being a punk . I'm sure the Mavs would've been so understanding if, say, Bruce Bowen applied a fist to the Kraut's juwelen.
Sack up and play. If your players cannot win without getting rattled like that, well, find new players.
I love how they are already making excuses for the Mavs...
I hope they are all reading this.. Should help get in their heads a bit..
Somehow, as soon as I saw Terry was suspended, I suspected we would see this crap.
But..But.. We would have won......
had the refs not bailed out the Mavs in a couple of games, we'd be on to the next series...

Excellent point. Not to mention the players all signed off on Sterns/leagues directive that punch = suspension.
he was right about 2 things though, Spurs win GM6 tonight and GM 7
I'm sick of this crap; we're having to deal with small ball; the rest of the world needs to start realizing this ain't no grind-it-out "boring" Spurs team. If we have to witness the Phoenixization of our precious Spurs, at least give them credit!
THE SPURS ARE AVERAGING OVER 103 PPG IN THE PLAYOFFS!
The amazing Cavaliers? 93!
I had no idea Cuban wrote for ESPN.com
People who enjoy high-scoring, little-to-no defense games, are not students of the game.
Last year, in the Phoenix-Dallas series, you'd see guys run back and forth, chunking up jump shot after jump shot (whether offensive help had arrived or not). If this is your idea of "entertaining" basketball, then you should visit your local middle school and watch the girls' teams play.
No whining when the Mavs were handed games 3 and 4 by the refs?
him.
Link to the article please..
i Can Help You If You Dont Wonder...hahhahha! U Funny!
This guy is a moron. I think the appeal of a Spurs/Pistons finals is that both teams are so deep that they can play in a number of styles. It would be like a three ring circus, while that Phoenix Suns' high scoring bull is the equivalent of watching a guy get shot out of a cannon thirty times. It's really amazing at first, but then it just gets tired.
I really wanted to send him off an email, but I can't find his email address on ESPN. Anyone got any ideas?
edit: I'm an idiot, there was an obvious send a comment link on the bottom of the page. I'm still not sure if that goes directly to the writer, but it's better than nothing.

No fear about a Spurs-Pistons finals. Stern solved his dilemma of yesterday (send the refs to Cleveland to let LeBron win or set up a game 7 or to Dallas to fix it for a game 7 there) by removing Terry, and thus clearly ensuring a decisive Spurs victory. Now all he has to do is figure out whether or not he wants a Heat/Cavs series or a game 7. . .
