The law, which must still be approved by Iran's "Supreme Guide" Ali Khamenehi before being put into effect, also establishes special insignia to be worn by non-Muslims.

Iran's roughly 25,000 Jews would have to sew a yellow strip of cloth on the front of their clothes, while Christians would wear red badges and Zoroastrians would be forced to wear blue cloth.

This is stupid. This has turned 100% Hitleresque. He's doing the exact same things that Hitler has done, first with weapons, now with the people. US or someother power should say something.

^^You know you are really dumb. Ever heard of Chamberlain(sp)? He
said the same thing in the 30's as the crap you spit out now. Peace in our time.
Let us just review what this fine Muslim has said. The Jews are lying
nothing ever happened to them. The Jews should be wiped off the
face of earth along with their country. Build up your military might,
so you can push your neighbors around. Now the really good thing
of making all Christians and Jews wear a badge. All we now is
the crystal night. You are familiar with that I sure, since you are
    so damn bright.

Ok, it's settled. The US should invade Iran, Syria ('cause those guys also hate Jews and Westerners), Yemen (likewise), Saudi Arabia (becuase most of the 9/11 terrorists were from there, although the Bushes have many powerful Saudi friends), Indonesia (because its a Muslim country), North Korea (obvoius reasons) and any other country that has said something mean towards the US.

    Law would require non-Muslim insignia
    Chris WattieNational Post

    Friday, May 19, 2006

Human rights groups are raising alarms over a new law passed by the Iranian parliament that would require the country's Jews and Christians to wear coloured badges to identify them and other religious minorities as non-Muslims.
"This is reminiscent of the Holocaust," said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. "Iran is moving closer and closer to the ideology of the Nazis."
Iranian expatriates living in Canada yesterday confirmed reports that the Iranian parliament, called the Islamic Majlis, passed a law this week setting a dress code for all Iranians, requiring them to wear almost identical "standard Islamic garments."
"There's no reason to believe they won't pass this," said Rabbi Hier. "It will certainly pass unless there's some sort of international outcry over this."
Bernie Farber, the chief executive of the Canadian Jewish Congress, said he was "stunned" by the measure. "We thought this had gone the way of the dodo bird, but clearly in Iran everything old and bad is new again," he said. "It's state-sponsored religious discrimination."
Ali Behroozian, an Iranian exile living in Toronto, said the law could come into force as early as next year.
It would make religious minorities immediately identifiable and allow Muslims to avoid contact with non-Muslims.
Mr. Behroozian said it will make life even more difficult for Iran's small pockets of Jewish, Christian and other religious minorities -- the country is overwhelmingly Shi'ite Muslim. "They have all been persecuted for a while, but these new dress rules are going to make things worse for them," he said.
The new law was drafted two years ago, but was stuck in the Iranian parliament until recently when it was revived at the behest of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
A spokesman for the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa refused to comment on the measures. "This is nothing to do with anything here," said a press secretary who identified himself as Mr. Gharmani.
"We are not here to answer such questions."
The Simon Wiesenthal Centre has written to Kofi Annan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, protesting the Iranian law and calling on the international community to bring pressure on Iran to drop the measure.
"The world should not ignore this," said Rabbi Hier. "The world ignored Hitler for many years -- he was dismissed as a demagogue, they said he'd never come to power -- and we were all wrong."
Mr. Farber said Canada and other nations should take action to isolate Mr. Ahmadinejad in light of the new law, which he called "chilling," and his previous string of anti-Semitic statements.
"There are some very frightening parallels here," he said. "It's time to start considering how we're going to deal with this person."
Mr. Ahmadinejad has repeatedly described the Holocaust as a myth and earlier this year announced Iran would host a conference to re-examine the history of the Nazis' "Final Solution."
He has caused international outrage by publicly calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map."
Iran does not yet have nuclear weapons, but Tehran believed by Western nations to be developing its own nuclear military capability, in defiance of international protocols and peace treaties.
The United States, France and Israel accuse Iran of using a civilian nuclear program to secretly build a weapon. Iran denies this, saying its program is confined to generating electricity.

As soon as they get a nuclear bomb, they're going to drop it on Israel, damn the consequences. But hey, don't let that distract you.

And the solution is to bomb the out of Iran, invade it, and try to install "democracy" in there?

Yeah, that would work. Until another Muslim country get their hands on a nuke, or Weapon of Mass Destruction (that we all have seen, they are there...somewhere).

Or even better, alienate the Muslim world even more against the West, with suicide bombers blowing themselves up in every major Capital city in the West.

I guess we could just let Iran go ahead and nuke Israel. That sounds like a really good idea. We wouldn't want to alienate those Muslims anymore. God forbid.

You will make a great dhimmi.

God forbid we should make someone mad at us. Oh, how terrible. Who
gives a damn if we make a democracy out of any country. How bout
we just protect YOU and the rest of our world, in which we live. You think
that bunch over there aren't already plotting on how to destroy us?
If you had a brain you would take it out and play with it.

    hitler lost

iran will lose too if they choose that path

the world won't let iran go on for more than decade like they did hitler
Who is going to stop them? Israel is the only one with enough guts to
stop them. The European nations certainly wont. The U.S. has so many
gutless politicians and citizens now that it is doubtful if we will, openly.
Everyone is damn worried about hurting someone else feelings that they
are committing suicide. Look at the spineless politicians in Washington now
running from the law the Senate passed about English as the official language.
My God you would have thought the world was coming to an end to hear
some argue. Reid even went so far, and then retracted, that it was racist.
Tell me who will stop Iran, please.

Oh, and Iran has already choosen it's path, to me it is very clear. They
want to be a major player in world affairs and destroy all they are
    opposed to.

You do realize you're getting all worked up about a government forcing people to wear insignias meanwhile your president is tapping phones and listening to private conversations, right?

Seriously, does no one see the irony in this?

^^Stupid is as stupid is. And MaNuMaNia if you cant figure out the
difference, I certainly haven't got the time or inclination to explain it to you.
I see no irony. The administration is following the law. Unless you are doing
something illegal I don't think you have any worries. Unless you see someone
forcing you to wear some badge to identify your race. Then you may have a
problem, just watch for the laser sight next hoovering over that badge. That is
    the next step you know.

Sooner or later (hopefully later) more US-unfriendly countries will get the bomb. It's just a matter of technology and time.

This time I think the US will have no choice but to bomb Iran's facilities (or though a proxy, i.e., Israel). However, the US needs to see the long picture and have a more intelligent long-term bipartisan foreign policy with the goal to at least reach some form of detente. If the US could do this with the USSR during the Cold War, surely this is not beyond us now.

Well spurster, only one problem with your theory. Russia wanted to dominate
the world, but they weren't religious fanatics. We are dealing with a
group of fanatics who view death for their cause as an honor. Bringing
death to anyone of another faith as an honor. They are promised
a life in paradise, which they long for. You are dealing with people who do
not even start to think as you and I do. Even under normal cir stances.
They have a whole different thinking process. They do not understand
us nor us them in most cases. But you are right in one respect. Iran
will have their bomb and others will follow because we don't have the
will to stop them. As you said Israel may or probably will take some
sort of action against Iran and others if they continue on, but be ready
for a firestorm of condemnation from the West and fury from the ME that
will engulf the United States, of this I have no doubt.

    Iran's president isn't stupid.

if his country unilaterally drops an atomic weapon on Israel-- a country filled with Islamic/Jewish/and Christian holy sites, he knows he and his country are ed

can you imagine how pissed off every Jew Christian and Muslim would be
Ever think the Iranian President isn't concerned about retaliation? No, he's not stupid...he's a religious zealot who thinks he's the 12 Imam that's going to bring the about the apocalypse and erase the planet of infidels.

To him, Iran is as expendable as Israel. It's Mecca he's worried about.

Better to ask for forgivness than for permission, it won't matter that the holy sites are destroyed more importantly there are no more infidels on muslim lands. That will be his approach.
