Forget, as hard as it may be, that we won't be defending Champs. And just ask yourself something and think about it.

Did the Spurs get the respect they deserved by the officials in this series?

Was Dallas really just younger and more energetic or is that just the excuse?

The Mavs are just as good as the Spurs. Yes they won the series, but they and we know they are not a better team. Not saying we are either.

When you look back to the Derek Fisher shot, that series went down easier than it should have. The way the game is played today that shot wouldn't have counted, and we would be singing different toons right now. But it's okay, cause it's long over with now. Right now, I can honestly tell myself it wasn't all San Antonio's fault we lost.

My point of the whole matter in discussing the series is the shots fell for Dallas when it mattered, the whistle blew for them when it mattered, and the game clock was always on their side. We could easily be up 3-1 and have closed it out. Could should and would, right? Not this time, not in that series. I will not swallow this feeling over the course of mistakes and calls in this series. I won't accept that we just lost because that's how it is sometimes. Because in big time high school games I've been in, in rooting for any team I love, for the first time I know inside it's not all our faults.

All I wish for now is a good offseason, for all the Spurs fans to understand this series was out of our hands during a lot of the games, and that we will be right back here in a year. And, that Dallas gets their handed to them in the WCF's.

That's my soapbox, congrats to the Dallas Mavericks finally beating the San Antonio Spurs on the scoreboard.

Dude, the refs tried to give us the game tonight. Wake the up.

We lost this series because Pop ditched his two bigs system to try and play small ball against the best small ball team in the league.

Tonight he went to 4down in OT when it was 24 flex (isos for Manu) that got him to OT.

I don't know if he was trying to throw the series for AJ or if his ego and what happened in the Sacramento series with Nazr got in the way of this team defending its le.

Either way, he was a ing moron and the series loss rests squarely on his shoulders.

Game 7 was pretty even. There was only one call I truely flipped out about and they gave Dirk FTs with a few mins left in the 4th for pure bs.

Yeah, we lost game 7. My beef is with other games of this series mostly. Just no respect for #21 knowing good and well Shaq or Kobe got the same cookies in their 3 peat.

i think what cost us the most was when we just stood around and watched the mavs make every shot they took and just physically dominate us.

The Mavs gutted this win out tonight!

I am proud of the Spurs for the way they fought back!

Thinking back on the Mavs last play of regulation -- the Spurs could have given up 2 pts and had the ball with under 24 sec remaining - -the Mavs would have had to foul the Spurs!

Pops just did not make the right adjustments at critical times late in the game!

Hopefully this sour taste will make the Spurs hungrier next season!

    Coulda, Shoulda

Sure, we feel we should've had game 3 or 4, but the Mavs won.
There's no question about some of those calls, but we had our chances despite.
It remains to be seen how far the Mavs go. They ain't won yet and we're still sittin' on 3 rings, which still mean a lot.
It'll be interesting to see how the playoffs unfold and more interesting to
see what kind of moves we'll make for next year.
I can't wait for next year!

....and I'm still pissed at AJ, and no matter what, Cuban still sucks!
