The greatest pain is to lose to Mavs. I have no problem in losing to Piston as SPURS and Pistons are great and classy team.

That was Pat Rileys guarantee after the Lakers 1987 Championship season and they repeated the next one. The fact of the matter is that only 3 franchises have repeated.

Think about it this way...Lakers couldn't do it, because they had to play against great teamss in the 80's..

The worst part is fighting back from down 20 and then taking the lead late in the game and having the game in our hands.

This series probably aged me by about six years. It was a great series but probably the worst feeling I've had in quite a long time. Sucks when you're at the wrong end of a classic.
Two things:
1. Fighting all the way back from 3-1 and then in this game from 20 down and have the game in our hands only to lose it.
2. Losing to Mark Cuban and Jason Terry after the they pulled.
yeah it makes me wonder about the existence of God, or Karma--or whatever...
.......but then again, I said the same thing in 04' only to have my faith restored as the Pistons unit was used as a conduit to SMITE the Lakers RELOADED.
Does anyone think Van Exel brought in bad mojo??? Ringchaser? Finley got cut from his team and chose to play for us over Miami because he liked our classy org and is a humble player to help out... But Van Exel is an old fart....

I would have rather lost in 5 than lost in 7 the way we did. Coming back from 3-1 means without winning the series.
Tim Duncan was playing brilliant.......but ...we didn't have luck.....that Cubans ers won.....
BUt thats life...Spurs are still the best team ever......
